  1. Hopefully, that consultant is correct. They would need to have the designs in front of them and I do not trust anyone at Princess who books people. I have received so much incorrect information.
  2. We never use any tape. Others have posted that they do. A simple small piece of paper works great!
  3. I am curious; for those of you who love those large balcony aft cabins, what will you be booking on the Sun?
  4. I understand exactly what you are saying. We are avid aft balcony fans and of course this does not exist. And we book those aft balconies only with the large balconies... they are heavenly. The all beige cabins could use some accent colors like the Sky has. It will be exciting wen the reviews and reports begin.
  5. That is what I said in post #5.
  6. It appears that you enjoyed a nice and relaxed cruise. We have also really enjoyed the Regal. Please know that: 1. There ARE balconies that are larger which we always book. It helps to look at the deck plans on the Princess website to compare. 2. If you do prefer to sit at the same table each night, that can be arranged by speaking with the dining room manager and/ or you can participate in Traditional dining. 3. The light sensor thingies are a new addition and we abhor them. So, many have just placed some duct tape or paper over the sensors. I placed a throw pillow in front of the bedside table one
  7. I know you are just charged the difference, but not the extra in gratuity. That has been my experience in ordering wine above the $15.00
  8. Whale watching! We have been on one through the ship and a private one. Hands down, the private one was our favorite. There were just 3 couples and the Captain on the boat. I think it was Harv and Marv. With a bit of research, you will find a great private company.
  9. You set sail at 6:00 pm. Typically, our Princess cruises have sailed anywhere between 4:00 and 6:00 and we are walking on by 10:30 or 11:00. I think that if I were you, I would deplane and et the luggage and look for a place to eat. Then I would get the NCL transfer to the ship (I assume they have one or more). At least you will not be as exhausted as we are because we live on the Washington state coast and fly out of SEA or PDX.... a much longer flight.
  10. Part of booking the transfer is that when disembarking paperwork is passed out, they will ask you your flight information and place you accordingly or you can tell them what bus you want to be on. 3:45 is plenty of time.
  11. Yes, the Pacific Northwest is currently experiencing crazy frigid weather, even next to the ocean. Our bay has lots of ice and snow.
  12. @jkrotaru Also, just try doing a search for each city, one at a time, on this board.
  13. Often, members on your Roll Call will have ideas and I also use TripAdvisor. I will not advise using Viator as they are a BROKER and not a tour company. I have known of many times when Viator cancelled tours for cruisers (often the day before) and then they were unable to replace it in a timely manner. Sometimes they are reimbursed, and others not.
  14. Layers will be the key and a waterproof/ repellent jacket. Bring a hat and scarves too.
  15. You will arrive very early and may want to get some breakfast. I am only good at finding excursions from a port and not the airport. Have you considered renting a car for all of you and then doing a self-guided tour? Of course, then after returning the car, you would need to arrange for a transfer to the ship. For me, I am a worrier and would just get through the airport and take the transfer to the port. Typically, we are on Princess and would be able to board about 11:00 am and enjoy the ship. But then again, we never arrive on cruise day, especially after flying.
  16. I am sorry about that. Some Roll Calls are crazy active and informational and others; not so much. I do not know anything about Oceana, but you could try the Oceana forum for Oceana questions. If it was Princess, I could help more.
  17. Yes, that is interesting. It seems like they are beginning the itinerary at not as popular ports?
  18. @tdtanc Last June we opted for the Princess transfer from the port to LHR. They dropped us off right at our terminal. You need to reserve and pay for it before boarding (the earlier the better). It was $59.00 per person and went very smoothly. We sat in front and the driver was entertaining regarding his comments on other drivers. Personally, I would not wait to get on the ship to book the transfer. They can fill up. Blackberry Cars is very popular. The least expensive would be a Saloon car and is 150 GBP or $191.25 as of today's currency rate. Private transfers are on the spendy side. Or, you can get a cab to the coach station and save even more money. https://www.blackberrycars.com/southampton-airport/ We took Blackberry Cars once to LHR and shared it with another couple. A third couple was to join us but covid intervened.
  19. Just be aware that there will be MANY children and teenagers at that time of year. Many cruisers swear that they will NOT do that again.
  20. We also use a big box TA and have never had a problem with re-faring or anything else. They are just your go-between between you and Princess.
  21. May I ask, what airlines were involved with these luggage issues? Thank you for sharing your cruise adventure with us!
  22. It may be very helpful to join your Roll Call. This is how I have obtained more detailed information regarding our specific cruise.
  23. Sadly, the sticky shower curtain is a fact of life on Princess. Some people bring "chip clips" that act as weights and attach them to the bottom of the curtain. We just ignore it and know that we prefer Princess for other reasons. However, from what I have read, the new Sun Princess will not have those horrid shower curtains, regardless of the type of cabin you select.
  24. It may behoove you to start your own thread with your question. If the direction is important, then post it on the Caribbean board.
