  1. Please refer to my comment in #1512.
  2. @Sulialto Thanks for sharing your journey with us! It appears that you are off to a fabulous beginning. Great job on securing the Sanctuary for canal day. Enjoy!
  3. Incorrect- Bottles of water are free with the Plus or Premium package.
  4. Often (for example right now), Princess does offer 3rd and 4th persons are no charge.
  5. Platinum does not receive bottled water in the cabin. However, you may order some through room service. It is not free. If you have the Plus or Premium package, then there is no charge. One dining room is open for lunch on embarkation day. You may drop off your carry-ons when the cabins are announced that they are open. However, some people "sneak" them into the cabins first.
  6. In addition, according to the video I just watched; there will be Park 19 which is "designed to bring fun to the entire family". There will be a "Splash Zone", Wall Climbing, a Jogging Track, "Coastal Climb" and a "Recreational Court". To the "Like" and "Thanks" in Post # 1509: I did not make this up. Personally, it saddens me as this ship design, albeit innovative, has removed our favorite cabins. But, it certainly looks fabulous with many new offerings and adventures. However, I think it would be quite a new experience to book this ship and I am looking forward to all of the upcoming reviews of their adventures.
  7. Thank you. I was only quoting the lady conducting the tour.
  8. I saw it on one of the videos that someone posted while on the Sun (most likely on this thread). I was a bit disappointed. It is to obviously be the first waterslide on a Princess ship.
  9. FYI- The Sun will have a water slide.........
  10. Kettles are usually not permitted except on British Isles cruises (and maybe down under). It is a fascinating concept- they are not dangerous in certain areas 🤪
  11. I know the Live Cafe on the Sky has an espresso machine as well and it is often not a s long of a wait. DH also gets his hot cocoa there.
  12. Actually, I have tried those in decaf and they are really good! Our "Big Box" store has "regular" in the store and the decaf can be ordered online. Both cost less than at Starbucks.
  13. We did that in December 2008. It was not successful as we did not see any whales. It was a small "boat" and it is possible to get seasick if you have those issues. It was a sunny day with wind. The four of us were fine, but we would not do it again, at least for that time of year.
  14. As @voljeep has stated. This works the best: We order and get our beverages elsewhere before going into the dining room.
  15. I think the reason is that HAL does not attract as many families.
  16. Everything is no charge except the specialty cakes and gelato. You do not need a Plus or Premium package.
  17. FYI- Hubbard Glacier was our very first glacier viewing. It was from onboard, not like the excursion of which you write. It was so fabulous! It was a clear sunny day and we watched it calve numerous times. It is really loud!
  18. I have never been on the Ruby. Maybe someone will see a this on this board. Otherwise, you might want to do a search on the Princess forum. I have never smoked anything so it would only be on my radar for the ships on which I have sailed.
  19. There is an Alfredo's on the Fiesta deck close to "Good Spirits at Sea". It may not be as quick as the walk-up typically outside, but it is great pizza!
  20. This is true. Princess excursion increases are because they use the same tour guide and companies that we book privately.
  21. We have learned to book shore excursions as soon as we know what we would like to do at each port. Typically, they are not booked through the ship. Either way, they can be cancelled. True, the excursions through the ship will need to be paid for upfront, but can also be cancelled. And often, independent excursions will need payment up front, but not always. A poster on another forum is upset because their cruise is 4 months away and "everything" is already booked through the ship.
  22. You can also look at the deck plans on the Princess website. Also, YouTube is a great resource for watching real videos. I will add that the Caribbean Princess is not necessarily the favorite ship in the fleet.
  23. I am loving your journey! Safe travels and again, thanks for bringing us with you!
