If everyone is getting the gratuities then Oceania Club Silver and above are losing that nice loyalty reward. We aren't gaining $250 because $125 pp isn't nearly enough to compensate for loss of gratuities as a perk. The loyalty incentives are now minimal.

We also like to enjoy sushi before going to a speciallty restaurant for dinner. We usually have it with a glass of wine out on our Veranda. As far as dessert, we don’t go that far but it's a great suggestion.

Has anyone found out about the new Oceania Club perks? Do you think they'll be in effect for our current bookings on future cruises? We have 1 OLife and 2 SM coming up. I hope they'll honor the original Club level rewards.

Mostly the same but different specials in GDR. Newbies should know that almost every night there's fresh sushi in TC. They will always freshly grill your choice of meat, fish or lobster. There are also specialty local food nights. Read Currents for the next day's highlights.

Our views of romantic settings differ. We think it's romantic to sit out on a terrace with a glass of wine, watch the waves and stars and enjoy pizza with salad and fresh burrata. We felt the bright lights were annoying.

Everyone has different priorities. We we'd rather struggle with the tiny shower and save the $$ for other things. We go on the R Class ships because of the wonderful itineraries. Veranda staterooms are lovely and very comfortable. Oceania has fabulous food, attentive crews and really nice passengers.

I think you're missing the main reason that long time loyal Oceania cruisers are upset. Everyone will get gratuities. An Oceania Club perk was that If you have 10 or more Oceania cruises, they're gratis. A $250 per stateroom instead of these gratuities will be a loss of anywhere from $100 up to over $1000 depending on the length of the cruise. A 14 day cruise @ $18 × 2 × 10 = $360. Those of us who go on longer cruises will be losing even more $$. The drinks, excursions and air credits are now defunct. I can accept those changes and move forward. The bottom line is that prices will go up dramatically

We prefer L & B's squares. Waves pizza is a fun experience but they need to do something about the bright lights out there if is it's supposed to be a romantic evening.

You're not going to lose your SM. You might still be able to book another cruise with SM If you find a future cruise that interests you.

Many people love the small ships. We prefer booking the small R Class Oceania ships because they're able to go to ports and go up rivers where larger ships cannot. We suffer the small bathroom because we like the more interesting itineraries. We often use the lovely Spa showers.

I agree. It may take them another two years to change it back to something more palatable.

I dusagree with your assessment. If everyone else is also getting included gratuities then a $250 credit means a HUGE decrease in value of the Oceania Club perks. $250 is nothing like the approx $800 in gratuities we will receive on our November cruise. In my opinion Oceania should add to the Club Level perks if they want to keep their loyal longtime cruisers.

No. There are many differences 1. On the original OLife passengers had a choice of X number of excursions Or the same $$ amount of Shipboard credits. 2. It appears that elite Oceania Club level members will be in effect losing their complementary gratuities. Theyll get $250 per cabin as a substitute People who have cruises of over 10 days will lose hundreds of dollars. 3. Oceania always included air in the advertised prices. Passengers would get an air credit. An example we received a discount of $2100 pp for our Japan Riviera when we declined the "included Air".

Awful news. We were looking forward to enjoying our newly achieved Silver Level Perks. If we are booked under OLife or SM do you think we'll still get the old Oceania Club benefits ? I can't find a new list of Oceania Club perks. Thanks.

We enjoy Captain’s Parties because we get a chance to dance. We are normally back in pur stateroom by the time they play dance music up in Horizons.

The 1st sea day is on day 6. So I won't really know in advance which day the Captain's Party will be. That will be fine. We can play it by ear.😎

Hi, I appreciate your kind reply. I was trying to decide on a plan for dinner reservations because the 1st leg is quite port intensive. We booked some wonderful private excursions and it's going to be exciting and exhausting. Any drink. You need to get 2 the same. Not sure if it's at 5 or 6. They post it every evening in your Currents. ( newspaper with schedule for the next day.)

I think having a fabulous CD on a not so great cruise wouldn't work for us. A good CD is a nice plus but it's not as important as the cruise itself. Thanks for posting.

Hi, Glad you noted the different port for our disembarkation. I will check before we make definite plans. It will be our first trip to Japan Looking forward to an awesome adventure. Thanks so much for the additional advice. We aren't looking to find the cheapest way but just most efficient within reason. We are flying into and out of Haneda. Will definitely contact Blacklane to pick us up. Booking a car in advance is a great idea. We prefer that to looking for a taxi in an unfamiliar place. Felice 😎
