  1. We are on the next sailing and taking a private transfer, however as far as I remember it was at the People Mover. I remember mentioning is several posts to note that it was the Tronchetto end of the PM and not the Pza Roma end. Here is an image I posted at that time showing the location as mentioned by HAL. Don't know if it has changed. As you can see there are bus parking bays.
  2. @MAVIP Bedankt! They are still showing €50 on their website!
  3. We are due to be in Kusadasi in a couple of weeks and had pondered on the Ephesus tour but hesitated with the walking element as DW is still recovering from her cancer treatments. However, thanks to this thread we now know that the solution to this problem is to shout loudly at the tour guide and be generally obnoxious to fellow travellers! 🙄🤐 Booking it tomorrow! 😉
  4. If I had to make a 'stay onboard' day, because of the physical demands on a senior person, then I would pick Santorini. First it is a tender, then a queue for the cable car and arrive into an overcrowded tourist trap. Returning to the ship is even worse as the queue for the cable car can stretch through the main square in the baking summer sun. Then the tender back to the ship. More than a couple of ships there then to me it is a no brainer. However, The views from the ship are amazing.
  5. HAL's excursion descriptions are poor. Easy, Moderate or Strenuous. For whom? A twenty year old who works out every morning and runs regular half marathons, or a 70 year old couch potato who is concerned he may sprain his wrist pulling the ring on his can of Bud? A more 'in depth' description is necessary on the HAL website, not just the dismissive, 'some steps need to be negotiated'.
  6. Use this website to check if it is central Amsterdam, Waterlands or elsewhere. https://sea.cruiseportamsterdam.com/cruise-calendar/ or it could be Ijmuiden (which is a bit of a nightmare!)
  7. The regular drink package(SBP) is not valid for use on HMC.
  8. Another vote for Stefano's Rome Cabs. https://www.romecabs.com/ Excellent service. I don't know about stopping off for coffee, it might be prudent to have had some breakfast in the airport (or Hilton hotel attached to the airport) before heading to the port. You don't want to arrive to the port too early as there are no eateries close to the boarding terminals.
  9. The two options are VCE airport or Tronchetto (beside People Mover). Both options listed 09.00h or 11.00h departure time.
  10. I have just looked at the latest edition of the 'Ships at a glance' chart on the website and indeed Oosterdam and Noordam no longer have BB Kings Blues Clubs but have 'Rolling Stone Rock Lounge' (not 'Rolling Stone Rock Room' as on Pinnacle class ships). Apologies to @gailellen12for the earlier posted incorrect information. hal-ships-at-a-glance-05-23-22.pdf
  11. The taxi company that we use when in Belfast is Value Cabs https://www.valuecabs.co.uk/ and they do take credit cards ok. The other major taxi company is FonaCab https://www.fonacab.com/index.php and I understand that they also accept cards. Since Covid the use of cash has decreased drastically for all transactions. I cannot remember the last time that I used cash!
  12. So no BBK? wow. That is very disappointing. I much prefer BBK to RSRR.
  13. I am using www.veniceshuttle.it I will report back and let you know how it goes!
  14. Sematics yes. If we get OBC 'per stateroom' DW and I can spend it at the same time! but wifi per stateroom and we can't connect at the same time.
  15. Per person, but you can share! It is not per stateroom as that would imply that both occupants can use it simultaneously, which is not true. @ciabelle when onboard, there is a messaging facility on the Navigator app that is free to use.
  16. Define 'best'. Cheapest? Quickest? Least carbon footprint? We are sailing June 13th and I have booked a private transfer (for 2) from Mestre (on the mainland) to Trieste. Price is €245, pay the driver with credit card. I will let report on how it works out. For a transfer to Trieste from a Venice hotel you will still have to get to Pza Roma as that is the nearest place for a car/taxi.
  17. We get on the cruise after you (June 13th) and our itinerary is still only showing 'casino' events, although Speciality and MDR reservations are showing ok. (we are not on a casino rate!)
  18. No it does not. Rolling Stone Rock Room is only on Pinnacle class ships (Rotterdam, Nieuw Statendam, Koningsdam)
  19. Will they be open on Monday? (Memorial Day?) (asked as a foreigner purely out of interest!)
  20. Initially yes, but since finding the legal definition of 'days prior' I am definitely on this side of the fence. 🤐
  21. Remember that Dun Laoghaire is a tender port, so allow time for the transfer to the quayside.
  22. Ok, as mentioned above, the HAL PDF does state "within 3 days of embarkation" and I, too, had my doubts about what exactly is within 3 days of Monday. Is it Friday or is it Saturday?? However, in the same paragraph, HAL states that for Greece you must bring a negative test result "taken within 1 day of embarkation". Now it doesn't say "taken the day of embarkation" and it does not make sense to take it one day after embarkation, so the logical meaning of "within 1 day" is the day previous to embarkation. Therefore, logically within 3 days of embarkation is embarkation minus 3 full days (ie the day before, the day before the day before) or in the case of sailing on a Monday, taken at any time on a Friday. Legal backup to this argument is found here: https://www.lawinsider.com/dictionary/days-prior Days Prior means the specified number of calendar days before the occurrence of the event specified, not counting the calendar date on which the specified event is scheduled to occur.
  23. Although I had to manually update from 4.9.0 to 4.10.0 last week, this morning Navigator is showing 4.11.0, so automatically updated.
