Exactly our thoughts. We are also onboard the Symphony...it was dark, the water probably very cold...the ship had several searchlights and we saw at least 3 tenders/boats in the water. Yes, a very lucky individual. * This was our second "Oscar, Oscar, Oscar" experienced this year. Earlier this year, on the Quatum TP, a man jumped overboard between Tahiti and Hawaii...the ship rotated and searched...the U.S. Coast Guard took over the search but regrettably, he was never found.

Agree. That "certain number" or threshold seems to be different on each ship, sailing, and HD. On Symphony now...134 P's...allowed to eat lunch and dinner at CK. * Breakfast at Chops. -

Thanks! I was genuinely hoping you would say..."me too!".

We have sailed on both...love them both. Agree, 8 days is better than 6 so Odyssey.....plus we love Aruba. * Boarding Symphony in about 4 hours.

How do Diamond members use drink vouchers?
bonsai3s replied to Sun Lover's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yes, you can get cans of soda...yes, all 4 cans at the same time. * Here's a photo of our fridge on the Voyager. -
If you ever make it on the Spectrum, you'll be pleasantly surprised. Completely non-smoking..."a breath of fresh air"...smells like luxurious aromatherapy scent is being pumped in the casino. During our first "walk-thru" we actually stopped and couldn't believe our noses...all we can say was "Wow! It smells good in here!" * The Spectrum has no Diamond Lounge, thus no need for a nameplate change to Crown Lounge. It has a large Gold Room (high rollers) that was partly designated as the DL on our recent 12N sailings....door was always open. * Coffee vouchers (1 per person per day) was added to D, D+, and P's drink vouchers to alleviate the queue for the coffee machine.

Agree. It's a safety hazard. On our most recent cruise, someone placed their tray full of dirty plates, utensils, glasses, and leftover food outside the hallway, next to our cabin door. (I nearly tripped on it) The second time it happened, I called guest services and asked if they can look at the ship's video and find out who's placing the tray next to our cabin door. Her response was basically "We don't have time to do that". So I politely said "What if I had tripped on it and hit my head on the wall...would you then have time to look at it? I then told her I'm visually impaired. * Thankfully, no more trays after that.

Coastal Kitchen - explain what is so great
bonsai3s replied to Cruise Gopher's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Love CK. IMHO, they assign the best waiters there...we've always had great service. -
Hairdryer...yes. CK...no, you cannot bring non-suites passengers. * JS passengers can eat dinner at CK depending on availability.

Coffee machine in JS explorer of the seas

Pods (Lavazza) -
JS = silver card.

Nicer linens and pillow cases. * We've been lucky...our request for mattress toppers have been accomodated...albeit some toppers were just folded comforters.
-
Voyager: * Check-in with suites. * Walk-in closet. (Best perk) * Tub/shower combo ( This can be a negative as the tub can be difficult to get in and out of.) * Slightly larger cabin and balcony. * Sofa and a chaise lounger. * Upgraded bedding. * Coffee machine (It is loud...it will wake up even your neighbors if you like your coffee early.) * Different color seapass card (Doesn't make a bit of difference...just sayin') * Double points. * Best JS location, for us...midship, hump, Deck 9.
