  1. We were also on the Quantum earlier this year, Brisbane to Honolulu, then Honolulu to Vancouver. Weather was moderate...actually very nice. Yes, we would happily do it again. * Hoping for the best and quick recovery for Lahaina.
  2. Yes, I have posted it before...yes, being cautious is helpful. Thanks!.
  3. Thank you! * We just have to figure out which way to go once we get off the bus...I'm visually impaired.
  4. Mapleleaves...just wanted to confirm, when taking the Aerobus from the airport, is Hotel Lleo closer to the Universitat stop? We thought Hotel Leo was closer to the Placa Catalunya stop? Thanks! * Google map shows Hotel Lleo to be a 7-minute walk, 400 meters from the last stop at Placa Catalunya.
  5. I politely spoke to the AMD, Maitre D', ROM, and HD...to no avail...they wouldn't waive the bill. Upon reflection, perhaps we should've had the "Alpha, Alpha, Alpha" announced instead. * The AMD invited us back to eat our dessert.
  6. Wonderland, Ovation...before our meal, the waiter asked if we had any dietery restrictions. I said, "Yes, I'm allergic to shrimp". During our meal, I had difficulty breathing, and excused ourselves from the table. (I did not want an "Alpha, Alpha, Alpha") We went straight down to the medical unit. The nurses and the doctor were outstanding. The doctor said that I may have been served something with shrimp in Wonderland...after a 5 hour stay in the medical unit, the doctor released me...I was fine. * My medical bill was $1,702.17...ultimately reimbursed by our health insurance.
  7. * Coco Cay...ordered a couple Long Island Ice Teas...bartender asked for cabin number (left seapass card in the bag by the beach)...a couple of dollars for tips. Came back for 2 more LIIT's, same bartender, didn't have to give the cabin number, a couple more dollars for tips. * Vouchers never got charged. There were 2 ships there that same day...bartender never asked which ship we were on...hmmm, wondering if it was charged to the correct cabin, but wrong ship?
  8. Things we do and always bring: * We use Cruise Critic, www.whatsinport.com, www.rometorio.com, and YouTube for research. * Check for price drops before final payment. * A medical kit...literally a true life-saver over the years. * A lightweight umbrella...for the searing heat, rain, and for self-defense. * Flip plops...worn in hotel rooms, inside our cabin, at the beach and pool, in the shower,...and when feet and ankles are swollen. * And a smile.
  9. My wife insist I drank at least one...I don't remember.
  10. Ken, earlier this year, we sailed from Brisbane to Hawaii, then Hawaii to Vancouver. (Quantum) * Initially, we tried booking a third leg...Vancouver to Seattle (Alaska sailing)...NextCruise said we couldn't book the Alaska sailing in violation of PVSA. Were we given the wrong info? Thanks, E.
  11. We did this many years ago...booked a connecting cabin...I wasn't paying attention, my mistake. The connecting door had a gap on the bottom and we could hear our neighbors. We rolled a towel and placed it over the gap...maintenance then came and added tape all the way around the door (even over the towel)...problem solved.
  12. Can anyone confirm: Are you able to get 2 bottles of water for 1 voucher? Thanks.
  13. Gold and Silver Dining is unique to the Spectrum of the Seas. Gold Dining is for grand suites and above, and Pinnacles. Silver Dining is for JS and above, and D+ & Pinnacles. * Access to the Gold Dining by Pinnacles can be limited based on number of P's. Same with Silver Dining, D+ access will be limited depending on the number of P's.
  14. pcur...Question: On ships with CK, a Pinnacle has an assigned table in the MDR...but eats at CK and specialty restaurants only...where would the auto grats go? Thanks.
  15. I wish they would open a clothing- optional area.
  16. Great advice from Peadar2000. * DCguy54, just be aware that once you get up to Fira...it is hilly and there are steps to navigate...just go slow.
  17. Yes...Terminal V (Virgin), is a short walk to Terminal G. * Royal Caribbean usually use Terminal A for the big ships, and Terminal G for the smaller ships. If Freedom is docking at Terminal A...then no, it would be a bit far to walk with luggages. Happy sailing(s).
  18. I was typing (1 finger) when you responded ...hope you and your family are well.
  19. So it looks like St. Thomas vs San Juan... Our choice...San Juan, PR. * You will dock in Old Port San Juan and most of the sights, restaurants, and shops are within walking distance. It is hilly, but there's usually a free tram on cruise days. You can also easily use Uber to to go to the beach like Isla Verde. Happy sailing.
  20. I love posting these pictures... Voyager, Trans-Arctic, 2022, Prinz Christian Sund, Greenland. (Pictures taken from our balcony.)
  21. My favorites at CK... Breakfast: Chorizo and Egg Flatbread...it's like eating pizza in the morning...ordered extra crispy. Lunch: Sticky Pineapple & Rum BBQRibs...finger lickin' good. Cheese Tortellini...simple but exquisitely laced with truffle oil. Dinner: Hamachi Crudo (appetizer)...buttery, thin-sliced, yellowtail fish sashimi...sublime. Saffron Linguini Ribeye Filet Seared Scallops Herb Crusted Rack of Lamb * Happy sailing.
  22. If you're flexible...it's usually not a problem. * Tables are usually available for early dining (5:30pm) or late dining (8:00pm).
