  1. We had two tours booked for a port in Oman recently. Then Regent cancelled all three ports in Oman! 🙁
  2. We too disembarked Navigator December 1st. We also sailed on Explorer in April. Our experience on Navigator was completely colored by the horrible way corporate (read ADM) responded (or not) to the wholesale port cancellations and itinerary revisions we were forced to endure. I agree with the many guests that believe Regent has lost their customer focus and perhaps many previously loyal customers. For us the service onboard was outstanding, with few, if any, misses. The staff bent over backwards to serve our every desire. As good as any we have experienced on eleven Regent cruises. The food had some serious misses, especially with inedible beef on multiple occasions (could not be cut with a steak knife) and a similarly tough duck magret. These issues were addressed with the GM, head of restaurants and the head chef. Otherwise, we enjoyed our food and twice did special order dinners (dishes we love from Pacific Rim and Chartreuse on the Explorer) that were fabulous. So, a mixed bag. We did not book a future cruise with our fcc yet, not sure if we will.
  3. This has always been our experience. If you say 6:30, they will ring your bell at 6:30, maybe even a minute or two earlier. Be sure you are dressed!
  4. Just got off Navigator 12/1. Room service begins at 6 am. Used it several times. La Veranda opens at 6:30 if I recall correctly, never got there that early.
  5. Recently did KSA-018, Ephesus with Less Walking as I have some mobility issues as well. I could handle the walking involved, the monsoon we encountered not so much!
  6. We too fly from LAX and have found the same thing. Flying west, take the Regent air credit (saved $1200 pp to Tokyo this year). Flying east, use Regent air as I can’t come close on my own. But always check for yourself.
  7. Couldn’t agree more. This is exactly the way Regent handled our recent Istanbul to Dubai (Navigator) debacle. They clearly are not thinking “customer first “, not looking to make “customers for life “ and do not appear to have policies and procedures in place for such situations, which appear to be happening with relative frequency. ADM needs to show more (some) leadership soon. I am not impressed.
  8. On Navigator now. Production cast is the best we have ever seen in 20+ cruises. Dance choreography and voices are exceptional.
  9. Christmas decorations went up on the Navigator today. Personally, I wish they had waited a week, and I love Christmas.
  10. Or verbally assault senior staff and crew members.
  11. Four such people were put off the Navigator in Dubrovnik.
  12. That is generally the only way you can book these tours/airport transfers.
  13. La Veranda typically closes at 10 am for breakfast currently on Navigator.
  14. Yes we did…pretty day, not much to see or do, but getting off the ship is a win! 🙂
  15. Correct. You wonder what else she doesn’t know. So far not impressed.
  16. Just received this letter in our cabins… The saga continues. It should never have taken this long for this to be communicated, it should have happened before the cruise and before others cancelled their cruise. Even with this, it will take a looong time for the ill will to dissipate.
  17. We spent 17 days in April, 3 precruise, 14 cruise. We never got any yen. However, we are not big shoppers, especially typical souvenirs.
  18. We missed our connection in Brisbane in 2018 on a LA to Perth trip. We went to Qantas and they got us ticketed on the next flight. When we arrived in Perth, Qantas already knew our luggage had not made it to Perth with us and provided an overnight kit, complete with pj’s. I do not think Regent would have been of any help to us. BTW, the connection Regent booked for us was possibly legal, but was unlikely to work unless everything worked perfectly.
  19. Today’s (Monday) port is Mykonos, a very picturesque Greek island. But for this particular cruise, it is, once again, not to be. Thunderstorms predicted all day with high winds. The tenders drivers union refuses to work, so we will be skipping another port. This reduces our scheduled ports to 8 in 21 nights. The good news for us is that the ship is not sinking. 😕
  20. I will add one more to the list of tours on My Account and the tour descriptions on the pdf with all the tours. In your cabin once you board you will find still another list of tour descriptions. We have found this one to be the most accurate of all. We have changed our tours based on the descriptions found in this listing.
