  1. Maybe they are selling through all of their inventory so that they can rollout "Padgett Panda".
  2. Aw, heck. I couldn't resist. Here is an enlargement.
  3. Take either your plastic card or a printout of your e-card that shows the number and PIN to Guest Services. They might add it to your account right then and there in front of you, or if they are busy, they will take the card/printout and do it in the back room when they have more time. Either way, the amount goes onto your account. You needn't worry about anything being charged to your credit card until departure day. All expenses just keep piling up on your account and get "paid" on the last day when they process your form of payment. Non-refundable OBC gets used first; followed by refundable OBC; followed by charges made to the form of payment you have on file with Princess (which is a credit card). The credit card will not get touched until after all OBC is used up. Gift Cards are refundable OBC, so if you give them a $100 card and only use $90, you will get the rest back, usually in the form of a check sent to the address they have for you on file. There may be a way to cash out at the casino, but I have never tried that. Hope this helps.
  4. Here you go. Posted (not by me) here on Cruise Critic on March 4 in a thread called "Champagne Waterfall". You can all use your photo processing capabilities to enlarge the photo to see who is wearing what. I won't add a single syllable of editorializing. See for yourself.
  5. Agreed. Seems like an absolutely horrible place to move Sabatini's. Unless they do some reconfiguring to make it more set off from the strolling passengers.
  6. Perhaps, but nothing about the following prose strikes me as all taking place from a venue that is as small as the Grill, with a "kitchen" area that is nothing more than a 3x4 flat-top grill. The write-up below suggests (to me) a place to sit and the built-out of a merch area, neither of which fit within the current footprint of the Grill. Princess is also adding the authentic and world-famous Salty Dog Café, the original, world-famous Hilton Head eatery that welcomes tens of thousands of visitors a year, to the Lido Deck on Enchanted Princess. Now Princess guests can enjoy original 'Salty Dog Café' menu items like the Prime Burger and the Chicken Strip Basket, while learning about the legend of Jake, the café's iconic dog in the yellow hat. The café's epic, branded merchandise featuring the restaurant's iconic mascot will also be available for purchase.
  7. On Enchanted, there are currently two venues that use the Salty Dog name, adding to the confusion. On Deck 5 (Plaza) where many ships have "Vines" there is a Gastro Pub that is a Specialty Dining venue that serves food at an additional cost. And up on 16 (Lido) there is a Salty Dog Grill where many ships have a "Trident Grill" serving more basic hot dogs and hamburgers that do not cost extra. The press release indicates that the venue on 5 will be replaced by the Irish Pub and that the Specialty Dining venue will be moved up to 16, though no location is indicated. And the future deck plan does not show a spot for it. One possibility is that it will be placed mid-ship where one of the Sea Walks now resides, perhaps as (partial) al fresco dining. The press release mentions the location on Hilton Head, and al fresco dining would certainly be on brand if that is the atmosphere they are aiming for. Or it could be inserted into the World Fresh Marketplace. Any other location on 16 would require the space to be very small.
  8. How so? "The Catch by Rudi replaces Bistro Sur la Mer Aboard Enchanted Princess The Catch by Rudi is located across from the guest services desk on Deck 5, as Sabatini's moves to Deck 7 in the piazza, where Bistro Sur la Mer was previously located." Pretty sure that Bistro Sur le Mer was already a paid venue. So we have a swap out of restaurants and a swap out of locations. But the net effect appears to be that no public space is being usurped to pull of the changeover.
  9. So if I have this right, at 3:00 you got a mini-bar set-up, and then at 4:00 you got a second one, to which you were not entitled because in an effort to fulfill your request, they made a mistake and delivered two to your cabin. And then at 6:00 you told an Officer that you did not have a mini-bar setup and you wanted him to see if he could attend to this. And on top of all of this, nothing in the mini-bar setup appeals to you, and you have a beverage package. I honestly don't know what to make of htis story. If you are trying to evoke sympathy from the reader, you are failing miserably.
  10. Thanks for the report. But I do have to take issue with your comment about regular boarding. With the introduction of the Medallions, the boarding process has taken a big turn for the better for those who cannot partake in the new lounge.
  11. Probably this. I don’t think any of the ships have a smoking area on Lido aft where the bar is. But I think they all do one deck higher.
  12. Mis-remembering. Plus has never included a SD credit. There was a promotion a ways back (“Best Sale Ever?”) when you could get Plus for $40 per day AND a SD credit. But that credit was in addition to the Plus package and not an inclusion within it. Maybe that is what you are remembering.
  13. Agree. We usually reserve a table at 7:20 as the theater shows are not a priority for us, but “same table, same time” is. But if we really care about a particular show we skip dessert and can squeeze in to the late show, knowing that we won’t get great seats. If we started 20 minutes earlier, I can’t imagine having an issue.
  14. Correct. When I tried to apply them to OBC and to excursions, I was on the phone with a very helpful and easy to understand agent. He walked me through what he was seeing on his end. He even said: “Are you familiar with the screen that appears when you make an online payment for your cruise balance? It has three radio buttons, one of which is “Gift Card”? And I said “yes” I was familiar with that. Then he said: “When I go to process either an OBC purchase or an excursion purchase, that third radio button is simply not there on the screen for me to select.” The only option was for a credit card. He said that he would try to put the gift card number and PIN code into the cc fields to see if he could trick the system, but that failed. (Not unexpected). So he wasn’t untrained or incompetent. He simply had no way to process the payment with a GC. He put me on hold to speak with someone to see about a workaround but when he came back he said that he received confirmation that it couldn’t be done. So if it actually CAN be done, I would say that the agents who fail are not incompetent or untrained. They are typical. It must be that the agents who succeed are superheroes.
  15. I pray for the day when verbally stating my cabin number is the most annoying thing that happens to me each day. I’m not rich enough or important enough to worry about someone overhearing my cabin number. If someone really cares, they can simply follow me discreetly as I go back to my cabin the way a private detective might.
  16. • Gratuities • Beverages up to $15 • Wi-fi • 2 Premium Desserts per day • 2 Fitness Classes • Juice Bar • 30 minutes of Bridge Cam viewing starting 60 days before departure. (Additional minutes available for a fee). 😁
  17. If you got “Yellow” and then got “ Blue”, just blend them together and you’ll get “Green”! 😁
  18. It is not. But the deck above might have a smoking area. Not positive.
  19. Or an advertising overlay/banner. Easy enough to do.
  20. Given recent experiences, I think Princess may be challenging this assertion. I’m not a techie, but it seems as if the cameras are already owned and operational, having their output broadcast over the web is the easy/cheap part. I can (and do) check in on any number of YouTube Eagle Cams and Wildlife Cams run by volunteers. I doubt that IT salary overhead is an issue for them. But what do I know?
  21. 1. The bridge cam is actually of limited utility to those on board. From any point on the ship you are mere feet away from being able to look outside. 2. (Serious question even though it will sound snarky. Not sure how else to word it.) What do you suppose the overhead cost is of operating the bridge cams such that they are visible from the webpage? If you think the system should be sunsetted because it does not generate revenue, what do you think the annual savings would be? I suppose if the savings is material, then your assertion would be on the money, pun intended.
  22. I’ll take your word for it. I know that when the Medallion App was first rolled out, it asked you to create a password and said that it could be different from the website login. But that’s been several years now.
  23. It depends how picky you are and how much photography matters to you. It is true that the ship will turn 180 degrees. But the viewing ALWAYS starts with the glaciers on the port side and then flips to starboard. The early morning light is definitely better for glacier viewing than the mid to late morning sun. So if you have a port side cabin and are willing to get up early (and you should), your the view of the glaciers looking west from a port side balcony with the soft, early morning light peeking over from the east onto the western bank is superior to what the starboard side will see several hours later. The other advantage of starting on the port side is that if one wants to enjoy some of the viewing from their balcony, and some of the viewing from an open deck, being on the port side would allow you to stay on your balcony in your robe, or sipping some coffee for the first couple of hours, and then transition over to the exterior for starboard side viewing later in the morning. This has its advantages over having to leave a starboard side cabin early in the morning to head out to see the port side, and then return to the cabin later in the morning when the starboard side has the better view. Personal preferences for sure. But there definitely are some differences.
  24. Log in to your Cruise Personalizer on the website. The page that opens up will show "Check In With MedallionClass App" once you scroll down. Underneath the "GooglePlay" icon that shows up on that page, look for the words: "Try our web version". Click on that. You will have to log back in using your Medallion App credentials (which may be different from your Princess.com credentials.) Once you are logged in, you computer should function exactly the same way as you phone.
