  1. A number of years back I was on a Royal Caribbean Cruise and then you needed to "Dress Up" just to eat in the Dining Room. While I complied it apparently wasn't enough for some. I wore nice dress slacks, a collared shirt with tie, and sport coat to dinner. There were 4 men at the table next to us wearing tuxes. They had daggers in their eyes as they continuously stared at me and it was obvious I didn't meet their dress code approval. What a sorry group that was...little did they know that they looked more like "Skipper Sam" than anything else. I knew that would be my last cruise on Royal and the laid back casual feeling of NCL is what I wanted.
  2. I agree that added costs can eventually reach a point where those on a very strict budget may not be able to afford cruising. Where these disagreements become problematic to me is when person A will no longer cruise on NCL because they took away something that there was no charge for previously but will happily switch to cruise on cruisline B because they don't charge for it. (as if cruiseline B is so much better yada yada) If someone wants to switch cruiselines for other legitimate reasons that is certainly their perrogative...but saying they will switch because of a $5.00 delivery charge for room service is definitely something I would never understand. And as long as my wife and I continue to cruise we will never need breakfast room service...I am her gofer and will continue going into the buffet early in the morning for her! 🀣
  3. Just a Blanket Thank You for all the replies. I am a little stunned at my own lack of knowlege regarding the way some of the insurance plans actually work along with the varied options and will be taking everyone's advice to heart.
  4. Thank you very much I have learned something new from you! I always assumed that evacuation meant being flown off the ship to somewhere.
  5. If one person in a shared cabin wants to get the beverage package...the other must as well. That's forcing someone to get it whether they want to or not. If the first person opts to Not get it then no one is being forced.
  6. You could always just do it the "old-fashioned way" Bring Rum Runners 🀣 Note: It's a joke people so don't jump on me!
  7. I always get some form of insurance for any of our cruises. I sleep better knowing I have it. My biggest fear has always been what would happen if either of us needed Emergency Evacuation. I have also always heard that Medical Evacuation could easily run over $100,000 so I always get that amount as a minimum. We have an upcoming cruise in April to Bermuda on Prima. I started looking at BookSafe Travel Protection through NCL and noticed that their Standard Plan has up to $20,000 for Medical Evacuation while the Platinum Plan has up to $50,000 for Evacuation...and it got me thinking that maybe the numbers I have always heard about for Medical Evacuation have been too high. So my question is do any of you out there have any thoughts as to what the actual costs of a medical evacuation might really be? Thanks!
  8. Never really thought about it before but actually it would make a lot of sense.
  9. At the risk of being repetitive to others...we try to get a cabin as close to elevators as possible. Noise from the elevators has never been an issue for us.
  10. The OP was referring to Hudsons with regards to tablecloths...and it sure seems like they use them there:
  11. Hi Arzeena, 100% agree We have sailed to Bermuda 4 times in the month of September and the deals are definitely there. Not only that but the weather for us was absolutely perfect each time. (knock on wood πŸ˜‰)
  12. How about a sailing to Bermuda April 30th on Prima out of NYC. It won't be cheap but you know you want to! </Hint> Should still have the new ship smell. πŸ˜‰

You have such a pleasant style that I know so many people find interesting and entertaining. Sorry to hear that you couldn't make it work for extending the cruise but still looking forward to your wrap up of this one!
  15. Even though I quit smoking many many years ago...sometimes I still relate to this scene in "Ghost" You can control the habit but it never really leaves you. πŸ€ͺ
