  1. I don’t love the drive as much as I love saving $$, avoiding the unpleasant airport experience, and not having to pack as carefully!
  2. Thank you! We were in the special cabin with the giant aft balcony. We’ve had it twice now and it’s always so fun. Unfortunately, we are not on Bella 2 because we can only cruise when school is out. But it would be so nice to meet someday!
  3. Wow, so glad you made it! Your cabin looked spectacular. I was interested to see how nicely they had made up your bunk beds. Andrew had bunkbeds on Allure in July, and they just threw the bedding on there in a pile, even after I asked them to make his bed, the steward just kept doing that. Oh well, it didn't ruin our cruise. But it did make me wonder what the usual bedding protocol is for bunks.
  4. We sailed Adventure last Thanksgiving in 2022, back when it sailed out of Galveston. I honestly had pretty low expectations since the ship was smaller and older. It ended up being one of my favorite cruises. The ship was in great shape - much better than I had expected, the food was good, the shows were good, we went ice skating, we had a fantastic time. 🙂
  5. You can definitely bring your own on. I brought on a large bouquet from the Pike Place Market when we boarded our Alaskan cruise in Seattle. It was a pain to carry them around, but I enjoyed having them on board all week. The steward gave me an ice bucket to use as a vase.
  6. My only complaint with Alaska Airlines is the last time I flew to Seattle, the seat cushion was very thin and my butt went numb. 😬
  7. So glad it all worked out!! Enjoy your cruise. This happened to my husband DURING a cruise one time. He got sick as a dog one night (and he hadn't been drinking), and I thought we were all in for a round of Noro. But he felt totally fine the next day, and the rest of us didn't get it. That was a huge relief. It must have been something he ate.
  8. It's a Buc-ee's thing. It's like Cheeto puffs covered in toffee instead of cheese powder. https://www.amazon.com/Buc-ees-Famous-Beaver-Nuggets-Snacks/dp/B005VS93GI
  9. And WHO wouldn't? Food of the gods, right there. Thanks for sharing your cruise with us! Your humor definitely made my week. Sad it's over.
  10. Ha, I had to go look for that one! Wow. Personally, I prefer cut-up tomatoes vs. the whole ones (cherry tomatoes) that can explode when you bite them.
  11. Has anyone done the Hato Caves excursion in Curacao?
  12. I used Tours by Locals for a post-cruise tour in Los Angeles, and it was a great experience.
  13. Lucy's are the best! ❤️ Our son was reading the Chronicles of Narnia when we got her, so that influenced the name he chose. I love it. It really suits her. The rescue told us that she had had TWO previous homes before ours (why anyone would return her, I cannot imagine - she is so sweet), and her name before that was "Kitty". She deserves a real name and a real forever home, which she has now. I always look forward to pics of your Lucy girl.
  14. Tomatoes actually have more potassium that bananas, so you could always add in some low-sodium V8. (I have BP issues also, no matter what I weigh.) So glad Linda’s hand is doing well! And your knee - that’s great!!
  15. The cream is methimazole. You rub it on the inside of their ears twice a day. It’s easier than giving a pill twice a day (although I can do that). Our carpet is15 years old; it was replaced back when we bought the house. It does need to be replaced again, but we haven’t done it yet. I did not know of the link between new carpet and cat hyperthyroidism! I’ll keep that in mind.
