  1. Yes, I saw that. I just wasn’t sure whether anything on the one I just got was new. Got my answer.
  2. Just received this. I don’t know whether there’s anything new in it. Just passing it along. “Dear Valued Guest, Please review the attached letter in regards to an important update from Norwegian Cruise Line. Sincerely, Norwegian Cruise Line” Sail Safe Travel Requirements.pdf
  3. Youre on ignore now, so scream all you like. No one can hear you (at my house).
  4. wow. You’re actually trying to rally an uprising against me? Good god woman, what have they done to you? How about just post what you know about your experiences and skip the ad hominems.
  5. Facebook and twitter is precisely what on WON’T be paying attention to on vacation.
  6. “We’re sorry, we have no space available.” Bah!!! It’s like rolling craps.
  7. Those archaeologists. So obsessed with the scientific method and "evidence." pfft.
  8. Let's calculate the liklihood that the conditions that were causing a sewage smell "years ago" would persist today, even after a dry dock and complete refurbish. Let's seeeeeee ...... carry the one, minus .... Zero. It's zero. There's a zero percent chance.
  9. We did Mary's lodge too. It was hilarious first they explained that all of the water running down hill was considered holy by the attending monks. Then you see everyone washing their hands in it and filling their water bottles. Also the same pipes channeling the water down the hill were also supplying the lavatories. So. So much for holy.
  10. Interesting that you got an email before you noticed it on the app. That's informative for us NCL newcomers.
  11. Maybe a month out is the point at which the vendors decide there wasn't enough interest in their excursion, when they just pull it from the docking.
  12. So there are always going to be people who just defend using a TA to the death. And I think that's fine. It's their right to do it how they want. Now if we can just convince them to show non-TAers the same respect.
  13. A couple things, just for discussion. 1. A TA offering percentages of discounts is tantamount to collecting coupons. I have no time for that. The return is negligible especially when you consider what most of those discounts can be used for. And it still doesn't balance out what you could lose compared to just pressing a cruise line for their best deals. 9 Times out of 10 that 10% discount can be gotten just by being assertive with a cruise customer service representative at your favorite cruise line. 2. Saying you have "as much control with the cruise line as you do with a travel agent" may be true, right down to the moment you can't reach your TA because they're unavailable, out of the office, sick or just on do not disturb for the weekend. Someone at the cruise line will always take the call, albeit frequently a wait on hold. I've never waited for more than 10 or 15 minutes, and it's usually one or two. 3. If you don't have the time to wait on hold for four phone calls between now and when your cruise(s) embark(s) you are probably too busy to go on a vacation just now.
  14. According to this website, there are 27 countries that consider cannabis as either decriminalized, or legal. The US is a special case because, as Traveling Fools has already pointed out, while you won't be prosecuted by local or state authorities, federal officials are free to make your life hell if they so chose. And since federal is mostly who you are going to encounter, it should inform your position. https://www.thrillist.com/vice/30-places-where-weed-is-legal-cities-and-countries-with-decriminalized-marijuana However there are dozens of countries not on that list (as show by this Trip Savvy list of countries and regions who maintain cruise destination ports). All of those could cause real grief if you tried to enter with cannabis or THC in any form, vaping fluid, herb, gummies, all of it. It would take a customs official all of 10 minutes to test the contents of your luggage. Once a positive test is confirmed, it can go one of two ways. You could be waved ahead because it's not that important to them, or you could suddenly find yourself in a foreign prison trying to reach your family to get a good international attorney. I would say your odds in the ship's casino are better. https://www.tripsavvy.com/cruise-maps-991930
  15. The only actual email address I've come across in my own process has been the Access Desk, which handles things like dietary concerns, arranging for special allergies, CPAP machine water, etc. salesforcesupport@ncl.com But everything else I've gotten from them has been from NoReply@ address. They definitely avoid taking questions and concerns via email at all costs. Unless you've spoken with a specific customer service rep who gave you an address, I don't think you'll find anything except message forms on their website, and I personally have never gotten a response from that method. Calling directly in to Customer Service is really how just about everybody follows up with NCL. (And most cruise line companies, for that matter.)
  16. God, this response is adorable!
  17. Show me where the OP was that specific about where (S)he was going. “Are you allowed to bring medical marijuana on a cruise if you have a medical card/prescription for it! It’s in a vape pen. Asking for a friend!”
  18. If a ship is going to anywhere where the laws on controlled substances are so different than ours that one might misunderstand the risks of being caught with them, then her same fate could await them. A fairly obvious point.
  19. It sounds like the more expensive one takes you deeper into the excavation park. We went in 2008 and there was an area in the front that had some ruins, and the theater where Paul the disciple addressed the Ephesians. Then beyond that there were more excavations that, back then, were still only partially exposed. Here are a couple shots of the site from Google Earth
  20. “…We returned from an Alaskan cruise on the NCL Spirit , Pier 66, September 12. It was a ten day round trip Seattle. We were thoroughly sniffed by a large German Shepard at either the cruse terminal building or Seattle airport, can't remember which. Wasn't really concerned since we don't do dope.” How curious a comment coming from someone who just said this recently ”…We probably drink more water than many with the drink package, because we drink it with meds several times a day, and in the morning and late evening...” I presume by “dope” you mean drugs. Oops!
  21. Ask Brittany Griner what she thinks about traveling with medical marijuana products.
  22. I imagine precisely the same thing they'd do if you presented with ordinary flu with severe symptoms. Lock you in your room, bring you food and tell you to have a good day at the end.
  23. "...On Norwegian Encore, cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, cigars, pipe smoking and vapor smoking devices are permitted in the Smoking Room on Deck 8, portside..." https://www.ncl.com/ca/en/cruise-faq/smoking#!#:~:text=On Norwegian Encore, cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, cigars, pipe, permitted on deck 13 forward port side.
  24. Just curious: Under what conditions could you be in the port city 24 hours ahead of time ... and "almost didn't make a cruise"? Epic traffic jam, or......?
  25. What horrible advice. I could say “never use a travel agent”. That way you’re not wasting you’re time on the phone with an agency when the Cruiseline could fix a problem faster. But that would be just as idiotic. I have used TA’s and they always turned out to be a roadblock between me and resolutions. But some people like them. God bless em. “Never” is such a wasted word full of letters. Think of what else you could do with all those “e”s that would serve mankind better.
