  1. If you’re on a cold cruise, that water’s gonna feel toasty.
  2. Yes, because I’m sure not one of those people. I raised my kids to be polite, respectful, and still have a rowdy good time when it’s appropriate. The OP didn’t say children should be baked in a pie and served to the hogs. She just asked if anyone ever had any issues. That’s a fair question. We should re-name this the Over-reaction thread.
  3. Great tip. The advantage of the french press is that if you’re a coffee connoisseur and pay attention to roasting detail and bean locale, you can bring your favorite roast with you without having to worry about bringing an appliance. I doubt someone who’s just as happy with an instant would care so much.
  4. On a couple of cruises I’ve brought my own cafetière and fresh roasted grind and just drank french press coffee. All you need is a pot of hot tea water.
  5. 4 Shots of espresso in a regular large mug half full of hot water is an “Americano” which how the Italians accommodated Americans who kept asking for brewed coffee. It’s basically just a delicious hot cup of joe. A better crema than with brewed coffee too.
  6. Has anyone gotten their flight info booked through NCL since the airlines started cancelling flights left and right? And how long did it take you to get them? They told me they could arrive anytime between 90 days out and right down to 30 days before embarkation. Just curious if we have a baseline of what people are actually experiencing.
  7. I've never understood what the benefit is for calling NCL and only wanting to hear from the same voice each time. Just seems like a complication to me. I've never had a problem getting through to whomever answers the phone and having them take care of whatever I need. "Personal Consultant." Meh.
  8. Boy do you have an active reading imagination. I never said a word about being nice. I said they have latitude, and there’s no accounting for how a person feels when they make a call on your account. But you needed me to say “people were being nice” and just wrote that right in, didn’t ya?
  9. eh? I know exactly what she did. I declined the booze, she offered the soda, I declined the soda she gave me the cash. Was that unclear to you?
  10. As I stated in another thread I called and asked to have my promotion Adult Beverage removed, I won't go over why, again. But when she agreed to take it off, she offered me the sodas. I declined those too, so she just refunded the difference to my credit card. When you're dealing with a single, human-being I think they each have certain latitude as to how to keep a customer happy. That means it comes down to how that customer service person might be feeling that day, or whether they would or wouldn't even do something as gracious as she did for me that day at all. All this blah blah to say, you won't know until you call and ask.
  11. Yes. I got why you were giving the OP such a hostile opinion. (See my rebuttals above, since you just keep posting the same comment over and over.)
  12. I can imagine that surveys can change frequently based on what it is an entity is trying to study. The moment certain forms were published, a researcher was looking at cause and effect of controversy on CC for example A survey isn’t just a way for 4 or 5 people to read and then sit around and be agog at what they’ve read. They are a data collection tool in the scientific method to help generate illustrations, like a Pearson’s Correlational graph for instance, to aid researchers in reporting back to stockholders how they are addressing certain challenges. This is a random example of a Pearson’s. So for an issue to appear and disappear suddenly from published surveys shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone. It isn’t something any company means for anyone to take personally or to inflate anyone’s sense of importance. I would be more surprised if a company never changed the topics in their data collection. That would be a sign of complacence.
  13. Im not getting this impression from the OP at all. Everything you’ve put in quotes is in your head The only thing you actually have to work with is that they asked her to come, and she rssponded that if she spent the whole trip seasick it would ruin their vacation. But you’ve got her painted out to be some kind of entitled Norma Desmond, waiting for someone to light her 3 foot long cigarette holder. Again, someone YOU invented with the expressed purpose of berating her imaginary self. It says more about you than it does a woman with a fear of the sea.
  14. Jeesh. Remind me to have YOU give out balloons at my next birthday party.
  15. ...which if you did not use by the end of the cruise, I presume, you would have had credited back to your credit card.
  16. Well as long as your claiming to be the torch-bearer for truth ... where did you hear all of that? Who intimated to you above all else that CC has "an agreement in place" with any cruise lines?
  17. Yeah there was no call for that. But then consider the name of the source.
  18. The OP didn't say her friend ruled it out, she just said she had concerns. And since the spirit of the cruise is as a gift to someone, I'd say be less concerned about having a backup plan in case she backs out, and concentrate more on making her feel comfortable and excited about it. Stick with it! Videos of people on cruises having a great time can have a big impact, it did on me. You can actually see inside the experience and start to picture yourself in that situation. Without visuals, you're just left with the scary voice in your head making things up. And I was on a ship that had a horrifying heeling incident. So, if anyone knows how bad it could be, I'm one of them. I certainly wouldn't relate a story like that to her. You’re a generous and loving person. I wish I could be your friend even if I didn’t get a free cruise outta the deal.
  19. I did this with Princess once and they sent the difference directly to my credit card. Just depends on the cruise line, and since this is the Norwegian thread .... yadda yadda I get it. Still worth mentioning that just looking at other cruise lines with better policies opens up even more doors if you're concerned about such things as price drops.
  20. We caught it. We just weren’t about to spell check ya over a title.
  21. I think NCL is just trying to crack the code on a demo that fries everything, breads everything, and has convinced themselves that breakfast with 25 pounds of pork and eggs buried in cheese is “normal”. I don’t blame them. They’ll figure it out. Let’s be honest. We Americans are by and large self gorging swine.
  22. aha! I thought meant you kept it light so you could fit it all into that gift bag they give ya.
  23. Sure. If you're someone who's trying to complicate the function of a doorknob.
