After 35 years and 60 cruises I have heard it all and almost none of them have to do with service. Yes I have missed ports, had mold in cabins etc and accepted discounts but never lowered my tops since none of them are really faults of crew members
This kind of thing can happen on any cruise on any line and is not limited to Alaska or Princess. I flew to England for a Trans Atlantic to visit art museums in La Havre and Bilbao. Never got to those ports Maybe someday I will get to go back. In the meantime I continue to travel to other ports in different parts of the world.
It enough compensation ? This is way more than we got when we were stuck in England for 3 days, missed 3 ports and ended up with 8 consecutive sea days. I would be very happy with this compensation
Having seen the new lunch menu for lunch for 11 sea days on our last cruise. Basically the same menu each day with 3 changes per day. Much preferred the old menus but it is still better than the buffet Was glad to see the pub lunch in the MDR twice in 2 weeks
These limits are usually set by the tour operator not the cruise line. I have also seen weight limits on some tour and seen people weighed at the tour site and they had to sit while others took the tour and they did not get their money back
The people I see at guest services have complaints about waiting 10 minutes for a table in the MDR when they had a reservation or complaining about how an order wasn’t delivered from the app. I don’t consider those as major or even have anything to do with service
The aft suites have huge balconies and they are always our first choice. We have only had them on Caribe and Dolphin and both have been partial coverage
We always do the back to back beginning in Vancouver which we believe gives us the vast of both worlds and avoids having to get to or from between Whittier and Anchorage. If I had to choose I would get the longest flight over with first. For the same reason we always do Panama cruises from Florida to the West Coast since we live in Oregon
Just google the ship or even a cabin and you will find many DIY videos of the ships. Since they are not produced by the line they are generally even handed
