I have sailed several times with Viking Ocean as well as Oceania. I have a number of Oceania cruises booked over the next two years. Decided to try Azamara in December of 2024. Since the regular veranda cabins are so small, decided to book a Club Continent Suite as a solo. I am told that I will be disappointed and that may be correct. But I like the variety of different lines.

Flying to Europe is miserable but I recovered faster than losing one hour at a time on an eastbound cruise. By the time we hit the Azores, sunset was at 10:30 pm—in April.

Ouch. Luckily, my cruise is not for 18 months so I have enough time to reassess before final payment. Thank you for the information!

When this thread started, I expected the Oceania loyalists to say, "No, the cookies are great!" But that didn't happen.

At Oceania's prices, is it too much to expect both?

This thread inspired me to look at Azamara. I just booked a Panama Canal cruise for December 2024. Premium beverage package is included with the Club Continent suite. Oh, well. I can always drink non-alcoholic beverages. I love Oceania but they didn't have any sailings for the time/place I wanted to go.

Strongly prefer east to west. Two main reasons: (1) You gain six to seven hours rather than losing them. (2) If going from Europe to America, you spend 5-6 days in heavy activity and then have a week to relax. Losing those hours is a real drag. On my last TA this Spring, we lost one hour every night for six days.

Finally, a reason to have a Butler!

No. I rarely see reduced solo supplements. Its 2 for 1 based on the brochure rates--that no one pays.

Meaning "Significantly More" when it comes to cruise fares... Hope I am wrong.

How can you advertise an ultra-premium plan without Dom Perignon? Everything else is just swill.

Since I don't drink, paying thousands more for the ability to drink unlimited amounts of Dom Pérignon is really not a value for me.

An alcohol package costs at least $150 a day for a couple. Compare the price of Regent with the price of Oceania.

Are there any top quality hotels in Tarragona? Or is it just an industrial port? $120 to $160 taxi fare.

It's 61 miles to Barcelona. Not an upgrade regardless of how green it may be. Will put Barcelona on a par with Rome and Venice for cruise passenger inconvenience.
