  1. Absolutely true. Loyalty is overrated. Yes, there are perks. But, you pay for them by past sailings.
  2. If you think Princess will be superior to Celebrity, you will be greatly disappointed. I find the newer Royal ships superior to Princess.
  3. What line has three drink tickets usable in one venue? I know that the Royal Diamond benefit is four drinks usable in all venues all day.
  4. Glad I didn't to learn the hard way! Thousands more and still crummy cookies!
  5. I love good cookies but not enough to spend thousands more on Regent. And are the Regent cookies better than Costco?
  6. I learned something new. I had no idea. Thanks!
  7. Heck, Cats is still on Oasis after almost 14 years.
  8. The first reason makes sense because the reason for infinite verandas is to reduce drag and save fuel for Celebrity. Wind above a certain level would increase drag from windows. Rather than admitting that the purpose is to reduce drag from real verandas, Celebrity sells infinite verandas as an enhancement to the cruise experience.
  9. That has been my experience too. Not much of a discount from a regular IV. Others may find bargains that I haven't found.
  10. TAs are inherently risky. Both because of the nature of crossing the ocean but because they sail in spring and fall. I have been very lucky on my eight TAs. Only one has rough seas or cold weather. But the ship *one day* behind my TA this year, had much worse weather.
  11. I am talking about Odessey which has real verandas.
  12. I guess it depends on the time of the year. I did a TA on Odessey in April and used the veranda every day, almost all day--even in the evenings. But I may be more hot-natured than others.
  13. Count me among one of them. I never go to the pool. I live the privacy of sitting on the veranda for several hours of the day feeling the sea breeze. If you are a pool person or a person who doesn't like to sit on the veranda, the extra space makes an IV a better choice.
  14. Many people seem to love the IVs. The problem with trying them for the first time on a Transatlantic (if you are among the many who don't like them), is that you are stuck with them for two weeks.
  15. Odessey is a lovely almost brand new ship. I love it. Especially on a Transatlantic because it draws a younger crowd without many kids.
  16. Do you like a real balcony? Odessey has almost all real balconies, Beyond has mostly infinite verandas. I think Odessey has more to do for young active people. What is the price difference per day? Odessey "feels" a lot like a Celebrity Solstice class ship. How does the itinerary differ? I have sailed on both. Would sail on either but sailed on Odessey twice this year because the balcony is important to me.
  17. A bit off topic but when using Diamond drinks on Royal, Pelligrino is available with the free vouchers. I get Pelligrino on Royal but club soda on Celebrity.
  18. We are the birthplace of Mrs. Fields, Famous Amos, Pepperidge Farm, the Keebler elves and the Toll House cookie recipe. Very high cookie standards.
  19. Is there any Oceania email address that we can all write to complain about the cookie situation?
  20. And if you are in the 2-3 percent who never got vaccinated and don’t have natural immunity and are worried about getting Covid, my advice is that you stay home and not cruise.
  21. Last fall. How many today? More than 96 percent I would bet.
