  1. And if you are in the 2-3 percent who never got vaccinated and don’t have natural immunity and are worried about getting Covid, my advice is that you stay home and not cruise.
  2. Last fall. How many today? More than 96 percent I would bet.
  3. I am old enough to remember when they told us that the vaccines were 95 percent effective in preventing us from getting Covid.
  4. I hope the nondrinkers don’t get stuck paying for drinks.
  5. "In some countries legislation would now be harder to legally enforce that a passenger is vaccinated (what is that 2 dose 3 dose 4 dose - some countries do not offer these extra doses to everyone and you can’t buy them). " I've had three doses and still got Covid. I expect that I will get it again. If I was very fearful of getting it again, I would cancel all future cruises and stay home. You can't rely on either your own vaccination, the vaccination of others or even natural immunity to prevent you from getting Covid.
  6. CDC Study: Nearly All Americans Had Some Level of COVID-19 Immunity by Last Fall | Health News | U.S. News (usnews.com) Almost all Americans have some level of immunity against COVID-19 through vaccination, previous infection or both, suggests new research from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
  7. How much more money? I have found deck 3 to be a bit too close to the water but deck 4 is fine.
  8. I may be wrong but I don't think it's too much to expect a cruise line that bills itself as having the "Finest Cuisine at Sea" to have cookies more tasty than Keebler. Not a huge deal but a real one. The Finest Cuisine at Sea® & Culinary Cruises - Oceania Cruises The Finest Cuisine at Sea® & Culinary Cruises - Oceania Cruises
  9. As someone who doesn't drink alcohol, cookies and ice cream are important to me. I may have to upgrade to Seabourne or Silversea to get better cookies.
  10. I wish they would transfer the money from the endless catalog mailings into an improved cookie mix!
  11. It may be that the pastry chef has no idea what good cookies are supposed to taste like?
  12. I predict at least ten replies that Oceania's cookies are the best tasting at sea. LOL. I am often disappointed by the cookies on cruise ships. Although the mud slide cookies on Royal are pretty good. I will have to sample the O cookies the next time I cruise. I can only assume that they cut back on the butter and sugar.
  13. " Secondly if the cruiser accepts this as the new temporary normal and keeps giving Celebrity the pass because of all the mentioned issues, why would they ever up their product gong forward? Seems they are making bank off those who are willing to accept less." This is the crux of the problem. Especially because prices have increased substantially while the experience has declined. I am willing to give all cruise lines more time to rectify the issues---but others may justifiably disagree.
  14. Maybe they have improved it! I remember the buffet was particularly disappointing. a lot of jello.
  15. When you pay those suite prices, I don’t blame you for being upset. I think you will enjoy Oceania.
  16. Try other lines. Loyalty is overrated. I sail on Celebrity, Royal, Oceania and Viking Ocean. Have a cruise booked on Virgin over Christmas. Have tried Princess but found the food to be mediocre (except for the outstanding pizza)
  17. Points usually show up around seven days after disembarcation. Was it the same for this program?
  18. Try Oceania. It’s my favorite. And I have sailed Viking several times.
  19. Not many people have 35 days and/or the money to afford this cruise.
  20. I bought a dining package but found that chair hogs had taken all of the loungers before I could tip...
