  1. This is the Royal perk not the Celebrity perk.
  2. https://abcnews.go.com/Lifestyle/caribbean-islands-generally-hit-hurricanes/story?id=40407011 As another poster mentioned, even if hurricanes don't often hit the ABC islands, you have a long way to go to get back and forth between Florida and those islands.
  3. Odessey of the Seas. I like the size and the features. Reminds me of a Celebrity Solstice class ship but more stuff for the kids.
  4. I haven’t been able to find it for my cruises booked before Simply More.
  5. My water stayed very cold because I could never get the BOTTLE open so I threw it in the trash
  6. I hate the aluminum cans. Between the wetness and my surgically reduced grip strength, I often can’t get then open
  7. Yes, this is one thing that you shouldn't overthink. Pay attention to forward or aft, pay attention to what is above and below your cabin. Pay attention to crew entrances near your cabin. On a tranatlantic, pay attention to whether you want sun or shade. But port or starboard otherwise doesn't matter that much.
  8. And been in plenty of ports where you did not want to be facing the side where the ship accesses the dock. Lots of containers are your view for the day.
  9. The problem is that the ship doesn't always dock on the same side in the same ports. The Magic Carpet is rarely used for departures so you can't use that side to judge where your view will be.
  10. Bottom line: Given the current stock price and fundamentals, don't buy Royal stock just to get $100-200 of onboard credit. Consult a professional before investing.
  11. When a Hampton Inn costs more than $300 a night in a nice area, cruising is a relative bargain.
  12. As you know, under the new program, you will be paying for them whether or not you use them.
  13. That and the increased pent-up demand for cruising because of Covid. And more people cruising because of more marketing.
  14. I always used OLife to buy the unlimited shore excursion package. That option is no longer available even if you have OLife. If this is important to anyone, you may want to check it out. I booked my unlimited excursions for my cruises through the next year before this changed.
  15. I am not a pool person. What are the benefits of the Retreat Sun Deck other than exclusivity? Is it a salt water pool? Quieter? No kids? Just curious.
  16. One of life's great mysteries. Royal gives the 4-5 free drink Diamond/Diamond Plus benefit every day of the cruise--including first and last days.
  17. If you don't have Elite and Elite Plus cruisers, more people are likely to purchase the drink packages because there are no free drinks. As I always say, if cruise lines lost money on drink packages, they wouldn't sell them.
  18. Even when all included was the only way to book on the Celebrity website, my travel agent always had cruise only fares. I would always compare the two. Since I don't drink alcohol, the cruise only fare was the only one that made any sense. I am Elite so get non-alcoholic drinks during the happy hour and specialty coffees during the Elite breakfast in Tuscan.
  19. How many people say..."I think it is a good deal and worth the cost because I get off the ship with nothing on my account statement. Worth the piece of mind."
  20. I have heard too many stories of people in Miami who didn't tip and didn't their bag without heroic search efforts at the terminal. May be urban legends, but not worth taking a chance. Tip.
  21. On a loop cruise I don't think it really matters. I would stay away from the Magic Carpet because it can obscure your view if you are not right below it (made that mistake before).
  22. Wow, a 19 year old thread on Cruise Critic! I don't even know if they had verandas in 2004?
