First thing. Great title for this thread “Ambush” style of new charges! I love it! Second thing. If Celebrity is not treating you as well as you expected, cancel your upcoming cruises and find another cruise line to sail with. Of course, all of the cruise lines are as Loyal to their customers as your pet cat is to you. Which means not very. But hey, you might find one. Or switch your discretionary vacation spending to another vacation type. There are lots out there. Modern Luxury was always just a marketing slogan which did not mean anything. I can't remember when they started using it but it wasn't Modern Luxury, 2013, or Modern Luxury, 2010 where they would have to keep the Modern Luxury at that level, it was just Modern Luxury. So, welcome to Modern Luxury, 2023. 🙁

Thank you for posting this new menu. Unfortunately it just confirms the rumours I've been hearing about Royal lately. I hear that some big cruise line corporation just ordered hundreds of thousands of plant based biodegradable cutlery sets that can handle foods like cod, turkey, pasta, stuffed peppers and chicken. Don't worry about any waist, as I hear we'll be getting one set of cutlery at check-in which will last the entire cruise. Newly designed lanyards that can fit cutlery sets will available on board for the low, low price of $59.95. (Psst. The extra time the room stewards will need to wash our cutlery is the real reason the cruise line is moving to once per day cabin service. 😉) And that * beside the New York Strip is for the new $19.95 plus 18% gratuity for a 2 hour rental of a steak knife. Eat fast everybody! 😁

Yet. But if and when occupancy rates fall significantly, Royal will again be as loyal as your pet cat. 😻 Of course, pet cats are only loyal when they want to be. 😁

Just like people, when times are good we all try to make as much 'profit' as we can. And when times are bad we hunker down and try to cut costs and save money. Corporations are people too! 😉 2023 should be a very 'interesting' year for cruising and lots of other endeavours too. But I take solace in my love of NASCAR. Because after every BIG WRECK, there is a clean up, wrecked cars are towed away, spilt oil is dried and removed from the track, and then the race goes on! Round and round, round and round ... until the next BIG WRECK. 😁

This place should have been named Cruise Gripers! 😉 Here's our secret to finding the best cruise or cruise line... ... Just find the one with the least CC'ers on it. 😁

Iv'e kept Mrs. Dawg from being an ex by going in for a dry dock overhaul every five years. I'ts a wonder what an good barnacle scrape and an engine overhaul can do. 😁

Thanks Jay. I too favour a tipping system. But mine is a simple reason. For almost 30 years in the investment industry, I worked on a bonus system. The better our clients did financially , the better my compensation was. As the old saying goes, if's is good for the Dawg - it's good for the the other 8.05 billion non-Dawgs on the planet. 😁 BTW the U.S. Junior hockey team just won the bronze medal in the world Juniors' tournament. I'm fairly sure RCI won't be be making the beautiful dry dock at Cadiz a regular port visit. Of course they maybe able to string a zip line between a few of the cranes and charge $15 a pop. 😁
