    We shorten lots of names unless it is already shortened, in that case we lengthen it. I am Mic instead of Michael, you would be Jimmy instead of Jim.

    As already mentioned, QVB is the Queen Victoria Building, situated in Town Hall, right by the rail station and also the tram. OPT is the Overseas Passenger Terminal by Circular Quay for the cruise ships.

    Super typhoon near Japan causing waves crashing onto the balconies of deck 9 on the Diamond Princess, a bit scary, a bit exhilarating and very rocky.

    I haven't used the link. I have used google maps to either confirm or to search an area for a more exact name (such as with the ballons in the yarra valley). In my mind, using the clues and to narrow a search is fine.

    Anthem is basically the same as Quantum and an older version of Ovation and Spectrum, so even the ship isn't a draw card for me.

    Royal Caribbean has listed Voyager of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas as new ships sailing out of Brisbane and Sydney.

    Yes, higher end places often suggest a tip now, but again it is not mandatory. We tend to just round up if paying by cash ( I.e $180 becomes $200) or if paying by card, we leave a note or two in cash as the tip. You don't need to tip the porters. In fact, as mentioned, in Australia you do not need to tip anyone but you can.

    Yes, not so great for us when we travel to the US. Btw, Tipping here in Australia is appreciated but certainly not mandatory. 10-15% is nice but again not a formulated amount that has to be paid.
