  1. So you are going to tell me as a passenger that if I do not book and excursion through the cruise ship, I cannot go ashore in a port the ship is visiting. That's going to go over real well!
  2. On the box with your upcoming cruise do you see three icons at the top? If you do not see that, I recommend you power you phone completely off and then power it back on. If that does not fix it, make sure your software is up to date. Last but not least, you can uninstall and then re-install the app.
  3. I would not like to see this happen but I do not think Royal Caribbean will have much choice. How would they possibly determine which 1,000 passengers out of the 2, 000 - 6,000 on board who would be allowed and who would not.
  4. Was just going to say, mine is working correctly. What do you mean by "do anything with the cruise in the app?" There are a lot of things you can do so please be a little more specific.
  5. I like omelet's and although the menu says 'ham and cheese', I have had no problem getting spinach, tomato, bacon, etc. added to my omelete. I am also a big fan of steamed rice, my wife is Japanese, so I have asked for rice with a number of meals, including eggs over easy, rice and sausage.
  6. Thank you. I agree 100% about the crew making all the difference. We cruise Celebrity for the service and have only been slightly disappointed once, and that was on Edge.
  7. If you booked yourself direct with Celebrity call them. If you booked through a TA, call your TA and have them do it. Or, wait until you board, go to which bar you think you will frequent the most and do the upgrade there. The Bar tender will love you for doing that as they get credit for you doing the upgrade.
  8. I can't blame you there but I believer that if Celebrity re-instituted vouchers they would be on your Sea Pass card vs being printed like in the 'old days.'
  9. There are three classes of wasabi. The premade in a tube, the powder that you mix with water, and the freshly ground from root. The quality and flavor of each is totally different. I prefer the freshly ground and feel that it is well worth the $12.00 upcharge. Skip to 11:00 and watch. And if you want to know a little more about fresh wasabi
  10. I fear a few of us are dating ourselves.
  11. I cannot speak for Blu but the burger patties in Luminae appear to be hand made. Unlike those I have had at the Mast Grill and in the Oceanview Cafe, they have not been perfectly round and they are thicker as well as having a different flavor.
  12. Exactly and I feel that is why Celebrity brought the cruise only fare back. Would you prefer to have four vouchers that you could use at any time or being able to have your 'unlimited drinks' at most venues during a two hour window daily, since that they are no longer doing the Happy Hour reception in the Sky Lounge. That is correct. It is also irrelevant with the classic drink package.
  13. Yes, but have you compared the price of the drink package on Royal to that of Celebrity's? As for WiFi - After close to 40 cruises, I have found WiFi to be acceptable to me. I always make sure I have a strong signal to the ships access point. However, what is acceptable to me might not be acceptable to someone else. I started with 1200 bps telephone modems. That taught me to be patient.
  14. The bars will be open when you board, not all of them but certain ones. You will not be charged anything additional for any drinks that are covered by your drink package. Assuming you have the classic package, any drink up to $9.00 is included. If you order a drink not covered by your package, you will be charged the difference in price plus a gratuity fee on the price difference. You are allowed to go to your rooms upon boarding and drop off carry on luggage and can do a quick change of clothes then. If you room is not ready then you can leave and come back. IIRC the Concierge lunch is served in the Main Dining room.
  15. I tried one of these on Edge - I did not care for it..
  16. I think this was a change during a recent update. We only have cruises on Millie booked and both show Luminae and the Retreat under Loyalty and Suites. I wonder if it varies depending on the ship / class? However, @Jim_Iainyou are absolutely correct in that consistency would go a long way.
  17. Apparently so. It just makes me wonder why, if drinks during any hour at any bar is important, someone would book cruise fare only. One of the reason I prefer Celebrity is the included drink package, wifi, gratuities, and OBC. Granted, I know I could order all of these individually on Celebrity and Royal but I like the "easy button' way of doing it that Celebrity offers.
  18. We draw down our OBC by using it for added gratuities. You can obtain a form from Guest Services or your Concierge that allows you to do this.
  19. Thank you for your review. We have not sailed on M Class yet and our first will be on Millennium in April. We are looking forward to finding out if we enjoy the M Class as much as we have the S Class of ships.
  20. Having drink vouchers on Celebrity does not make sense to me. Why do you need drink vouchers when everyone gets the classic drink package, unless you specifically book cruise fare only.
  21. @Tom-n-Cheryl Point taken, butt I have no frame of reference. I have not sailed on Carnival l since 2006 and chances are I will not be sailing on Carnival again. Mustard is needed on any good burger. However, my preference is brown or Deli mustard. Something else that I enjoy on my burgers is steak sauce, preferably A-1. When I grill burgers at home I put a little on the meat while it's cooking and then a little more when I assemble the burger. As for fries -- bar-b-que sauce makes a great dip !
  22. Sorry but the the Luminae Signature Burger is still my favorite burger at sea. I also like Johnny Rockets on Royal Caribbean.
  23. Celebrity does not use vouchers. Elite receive free selected drinks during Happy Hour. There is a list of what choices are available.
  24. Yes, unfortunately what’s sold in the liquor store on the ship cannot be used in the bars. I remember reading here or on the Celebrity forum why that is the case. But right now I cannot remember what the explanation was.
