We also enjoyed PC. Took a very inexpensive Royal cruise Baltimore to PC a few years back. Spent a few days, toured the canal and flew home. Lots of Spanish speaking guests but enjoyed the entire experience.
Leaves plenty of time to download Babble and learn Spanish. They say 3 weeks to be conversational.
But we have been on many Spanish dominated cruises and never had any problem. Listen to the English version of announcements and ignore the rest. Smile and be kind.
I understand your husband. What's a couple books to someone who takes your bags? Have you seen some the luggage these people take on cruise? It looks like they are moving onto the ship!
Unless you and your cabin mate do not drink 10 drinks/day. In that case collect all unused vouchers before bed for cans. One B3B we left over 30 cokes for our cabin attendant. We asked his favorite and he said no alcohol but loved Coke. He got some! Plus a nice tip.
Nice savings! In fact, I think I will only book guarantee cabins in the future unless I'm bookin group space with my best ever TA. For every 2 or 3 guarantee cabins, I can book another cruise.
