  1. The wonderful friendly crew, the pea soup. And the food in general.
  2. There are some casual restaurants in Pacific Place center (Pike Place Chowder) and also Westlake Center. The cafe in Nordstrom’s is also very good. If you like Italian. In post alley near Pike Place Market.. The Pink Door- make a reservation to eat there.
  3. Sign out of the account. Clear your browser. Close your browser and sign back in. I had the same issue. Thanks to all that have shared info on these gift cards. I purchased 5 and so did my husband. SWEET
  4. Thanks all!! Waiting.. not so patiently!!
  5. Any ideas about when 2025 Europe sailings will be released?
  6. Seems the older ships still have the taco bar near the Dive In. It was on the Westerdam & Oosterdam since September of 2022. Was not on the Konigsdam or Statendam. Just retired and cruised many times since 8/2022. 🙂. Ice cream at the Lido at lunch & dinner. (The ice cream scooper person always knows my husband by name!!! BAD) I’ll take the cookies
  7. Cannot understand why a premium cruise line, Viking does not offer better flight options, selections and pricing for their customers. I have used Holland America Flight Ease.. much better experience. You can book your flight, get your seat assignments and lock in the price the day the flights are open to the public. Compare cost of business vs. economy vs. economy plus. Change it anytime prior to final payment. I wish Viking Air plus could work that way. Would sail them more frequently if so.
  8. I have had a bad experience with Viking Air plus. They changed my flight date of departure to 3 days earlier. They emailed my sister the change (lives in another state) the change of flight.. yet it my flights that were changed to arrive on the wrong day. Resolving this so late meant of course.. at the bottom of the barrel for seat selection. I wish Viking would use Flight Ease (Holland America) you can choose your own flights and check pricing and schedules. Much better experience there. We flew to South America this year for thousands less in business class than prices Viking wants for business class. Viking does not guarantee domestic flights in business class. Coming from Seattle to Europe that could be half of the journey. My one thing I dislike about Viking. Once you are there.. all is good.
  9. I was on the Westerdam June 18 for a week to Alaska. They do have many games in the Crows Nest to borrow. The Crossword puzzles and Sudoko are printed and available at the guest services desk. We had several days of the same Sudoko puzzle. Seems they are not updated on a daily basis. The Mah Jong sets were in the room (in a closet) that was scheduled for Mah Jong play at 1:00. (Can't remember the name of the room near the shops). You do have to confirm the sets are complete prior to playing. There were several sets there, yet were very mixed up. Let the games begin!!!
  10. Dang.. I really like the Gallery bar... Thank you for responding.
  11. The deck plan on the HA website shows Northern lights nightclub on deck 2. Is this still the case on the Noordam? The Oosterdam and Westerdam have the Gallery bar. Thank you.
  12. Nice review. I was on the Westerdam June 18. I found your review spot on. Was surprised the ship did not feel overcrowded as the sailing was sold out. The cabin stewards did seem to have too many rooms to clean. They did do a great job.. just very busy. I agree the portions in the dining room are on the small side. I have seen couples order a 3rd entree and share. We ate several times in MDR and service was good. Don’t recall anytime it was slow.. yet I enjoyed my travel companion. The ship was in great shape and very clean. The new library was very nice. It had several copies of the same book.. thought that was a bit odd. Not a vast selection yet way better than none! We enjoyed our cruise very much.
  13. Congratulations!! Love calling these the FNF cruise (Free, Not free) but still an excellent deal!!
  14. Booked on a fairly full cruise. No upgrades are available for purchase from calling ship inventory. Has anyone had any luck going to guest services after boarding and asking about a paid upgrade? Thank you
  15. Went from Santiago to BA January 2023. We loved the ship. Beautiful and elegant. Less restaurants than the newer ships. We booked a signature suite with Club Orange and never waited for a table for dinner. The art displayed around the ship is very unique. The Koningsdam seemed so "sterile" compared to the Oosterdam, yet had more restaurant options. The crew was amazing, friendly and the food was very good. Had no complains on our Antartica voyage. I would sail on her again anytime!!! Liked Oosterdam more than the Koningsdam. We did enjoy the Nieuw Statendam.
  16. Rudi's if you like seafood and French menu. Pinnacle if you are more of a steak and potato person. I agree with checking out the menus. Have had many excellent Pinnacle dinners and one not so great. Been to Rudi's once and it was really good!!
  17. Our last 3 cruises, Alaska (5/23), Antartica - Santiago to Buenos Aries (1/23), and Quebec City to Ft. Lauderdale (10/22). We purchased the signature beverage package on all cruises. Many options on the signature beverage package were "not available" and all 3 cruises were replaced with (much) lesser quality options. We started to call this the Signature Plonk Package. I do understand supply chain and shortages.. yet why every time is the wines replaced with Two Buck Chuck? (or the liking)
  18. This was our first cruise from Vancouver. We have been on Seattle cruises to Alaska. Glad you said we did not do Tracy Arm. I was afraid I may have missed it?? You are much more informed than I am. Guess I need to go back again to see Tracy Arm. Would not look forward to the boarding lines... UGH!!!! Taking an Alaska Cruise from Seattle end of June on the Westerdam. Will compare the scenery... yet I guess we did not see the Inside Passage. Who knew?? All in all we enjoyed the cruise.. hated the boarding in Vancouver.
  19. No Tracy Arm. No announcement either way of going or not going there. I did not check about the library.. but I did not run across one. Hope it’s back soon.
  20. We have global entry. The problem was the long line to get to customs. No global entry or Nexus lines. All in the same queue. It may have started that way? We showed up at 11:00 (our assigned time)
  21. I think 7073 will be OK.. it’s down the hall a bit. 7071 is next to 7069. My brother’s room and they didn’t hear it. Asking the Neptune concierge to put a sign to close door gently may have helped (we did not). We ate at Club Orange, Lido, Pinnacle, Dive in and NY deli. One day Dive in was slow.
  22. Just off the Koningsdam. As many had expressed here the boarding was chaos. We are 4 star with a Neptune suite and took us 2 hours all standing in lines. Customs was the hold up. Seems no matter what time your boarding was assigned, everyone was let in the line. Seems that could be monitored? No priority boarding as when we finally made it to the Holland America wait area (after customs and security) no one was waiting. Cabin 7071 was right across the hall from where they would stock the Neptune suite. Noisiest cabin we have every had. Every morning around 7am the Neptune would be stocked and the door would slam multiple times. I would not book that cabin again. In Skagway they had only 1 ramp to load and offload passengers. We waited 15 minutes or so to get back on the ship. It was cold and windy outside. Not sure why they did not stop the outgoing line more frequently as they were inside not out in the wind? We had the beverage package and the wine I liked on the package was not available. It was replaced with something inferior (in my opinion). I did contact the beverage manager who sent up a nice bottle of wine and removed the upcharges on a better wine that was available. Now the good things... The food was wonderful. We never seemed to wait long to be served. The portions did seem a bit smaller yet less food waste is good. They are always happy to bring you more. The Lido was not too lined up when we visited. My brother wanted French Onion soup (not on the menu that day).. no problem. All food requests were met. Room service was very good. One day was a bit late. The lectures on board were very good. As usual the staff was fantastic..our cabin stewards, bartenders and waiters!! Kudos to them for making this a great cruise. All in all we had a wonderful cruise on the Koningsdam. We did not notice anything that needed significant repairs. The ship was clean and well maintained. After reading a few reviews on the Koningsdam.. there is hope to have a wonderful cruise.. we did!! Hope someone can do something about the Vancouver boarding process. That is bad for everyone!! One other thing.. no more bars of soap. Shower gel only so be prepared.
  23. We were on the Oosterdam Hamnuary of 2023. Booked a signature suite and did enjoy the balcony for photos and viewing. Too cold to eat outside for us.. yet we did eat inside and watched the scenery go by. Make sure you are on the land side of the ship while sailing the Fjords. (depending on which way you travel)
