  1. I received my bags within 30 minutes each of my past 5 cruises. I was staying in a lowly inside solo cable so your results may vary. Carrying luggare on board is a good option but only if your suit cases can fit throught the secruity screening machines (the same ones airports use in their TSA screening lines). I take one large suitcase because I bring my own pillows and I check it in before the cruise but wheel it off when I disembark the ship.
  2. It's all working today at 4AM....:). Maybe just a momentary glitch in the VV app universe last night. Thanks fo all the help.
  3. Update: it's not the iOS. VV still thinks I'm on my last cruise in Key West... Anyone else's app not working??
  4. I read she was only coming on for a quick photo shoot and the gone with the wind.
  5. I just updated my iphone and the VV app went dark. I'm trying to manage my upcoming 6th cruise but, after the update, all of the icons on the bottom are grayed out and sailings no longer showup. Spent 60 frustrating minutes online with VV tech support (regretting my most recent booking) and finally hung up when she instructed me to create a new account and abandon my current one 😞 Anyone else having issues with VV's app after iOS updates?
  6. It's a perfect time for 'relaxing on board'. The pool area is quiet with lounge chairs a plenty. Not much difference on the ship between Bimini Day and sea days. I've done 5 cruises this year and only got off in Bimini once for a look see... I'm not a sandy beach person I want right back to the ship. As mentioned above, the casino and onboard shops are closed but neither of those are relaxing anyway 🙂
  7. I just got off my 5th VV cruise in the last 2 months and found "wifi calling" to be just 'OK' but not perfect. It seems to be dependent on the number of sailors on board as one would expect. Be sure to turn off your cellular or you could get whacked by the "Cellular at Sea" service charges all cruise lines offer.
  8. I'm taking my 5th VV cruise on Friday and this mention of a forced dress code is the first time ever I've seen or experienced references to "guests being forced to wear certain clothes". I've found quite the opposite to be true both online and onboard. The only clothing referenced on VVs website is: Please wear at least a bathing suit in the dining rooms: See full dress code on VV's website at: https://help.virginvoyages.com/s/searchresult?userInput=What is the dress code On board, sailors wore whatever they wanted which is a stark contrast to my dozens of Celebrity and Seabourn cruises which said men shall wear sports jackets and/or tuxes on formal nights.
  9. To OP: Your post was most timely and helpful. I was able to confirm (with VV) my 10% FL residents savings was applied AND got my missing 'extra $100 Deep Blue bar loot" added to my Add-Ons for tomorrow's cruise. Thank you...
  10. I was promised a voucher for the Florida discount but never received it. Back to the phone I go.
  11. I'm guessing they are still working on the new program which was 'to be announced' by Apr. 1st.
  12. I’m on Scarlet now too and Apple Maps can’t find my location. Not surprising because I don’t have any cell coverage and am using a pre iPhone 14 pro.
  13. I’m onboard Scarlet now. Confirmed the new sailors program will be announced the end of March.
  14. Per Person and was the best ship tour I’ve ever had. Four hours, 5 of us sailors, free drink and free hat at the end. We had 2-3 staff members talking to us in each department.
  15. I find the drip coffee served in the galley to be some of the Best drip coffee I’ve had outside of my own home. I’ve done the behind the scenes tour and saw the coffee VV uses and it’s a high quality brand. With that said it’s both rich AND strong. Those who like weak Hotel Inn coffee may find it overwhelming strong.
  16. Are there any shore excursions worth taking? Anyone? I did book the 'intro to Puerto Plata' walking tour but it was canceled by VV a few weeks ago due to Technical issues according to VV.
  17. There is very limited seating outside Terminal V, maybe 10-15 concrete benches (enough to seat less than 30 people). However, if you have a 2:30 boarding time, you'll be standing outside in the 2:30 Que with 50 - 100 of your new best friends - reading a book. Once you enter the lovely Terminal V you'll be checking in (standing), going through security screening (stripping), and boarding the ship (running). No time to sit now! 🙂
  18. Sometimes it’s hard to explain what I’m asking for but I like the way you would ask. Plain unseasoned meat. Simply stated. Thanks!
  19. Thanks for that info. I'll follow your advice.
  20. Thanks for that. Due to food allergies, I'm a 'plain meat' guy and avoid all spices at all costs so I'm kind of worried. Will I be able to find this at Gumbae? Plain unseasoned meat? Salt is good but no onion, garlic powder, msg, etc.
  21. I've done 10 or more cruises on Celebrity and then did my next 16 on Seabourn. Seabourn was wonderful but, at almost $1500 a night, it should be. With that said I'm enjoying VV more than either Celebrity or Seabourn. Not because of the food or the style of the ship. I find the vibe on VV is just 'fun' and the staff is the friendliest of any lines I've sailed on. Baskin Robbins makes 52 flavors of ice cream. I like cookies and cream. Lots of cruise lines to choose from. I like VV.
  22. I'm thinking of trying it next week. Did you order it or passed, I couldn't tell from your post.
  23. I’m finding it difficult if not impossible to find ANY TA who books VV (much less a good one).
  24. Mine was fixed to the wall with no option to tilt or swivel. WITH THAT SAID I'm in an inside solo room 😞. Rockstars may have it better.
