  1. That’s disturbing given that the Chablis was within the limit and what I would drink. Raising the limit to $13.50 is not very helpful when the drinkable wines have been moved outside the package. All other cruiselines I’ve been on charge the difference, not the whole drink. Now I’m conflicted about the alcohol package.
  2. Hi, the language in the drink package regarding the 20% discount refers to it on drinks above $13.50 and “some bottles of wine”. It used to be all bottles of wine under a dollar amount (I believe $150). Does anyone know what the current dollar limit is? Or is it just particular bottles? anyone know the corkage fee at dinner if bringing wine aboard? It appears we can each bring only one bottle on board? I was not so crazy about the Commodore Collection and would rather get a few fine bottles or even bring some onboard. If the 20% discount doesn’t apply to any of my wine choices, I’d probably be better off without the package. Thank you!
  3. This is why I do it. It’s going to sound crazy but I get it so I feel free to try things and free to abandon drinks.
  4. I actually now have Allianz annual plan and just got Medjet Horizon because I had booked a cruise and forgotten to renew (so preexisting conditions won’t be covered, so now I need GeoBlue also for that trip also!) But generally, perhaps both are warranted— perhaps Allianz will get someone to the local hospital and Medjet will get them home. Any idea of medjet horizon will help in an attack where the conflict is ongoing (such as Israel)?
  5. so does Geoblue trekker cover us? We have medjethorizon which would work from a hospital (but not the cruise ship) and Allianz annual premier for medical. But unfortunately I did not purchase it within 14 days of one of our trips so am concerned about preexisting conditions and getting off the ship…
  6. Yes—sushi was such different quality too. the last late night buffet had 3 potato dishes and one pack of frozen vegetables and then rice and polenta with one meat pasta (which people also said was awful). I had to laugh at how thoughtless.
  7. The WiFi worked (mostly) in public spaces, but not in the rooms. I was shocked at how bad the food was, so many items actually inedible and so little variety. Do they not taste their food or time the cooking? I was on QV just a few months ago and the food was great.
  8. Glass shower doors rather than curtains Seamless wifi access in cabins Bring back good quality and healthy food with variety in the buffet Personally, I could not care less about rust
  9. Even better, perhaps a tad smoother 🙂.
  10. Yes, I’m very chill about everything, am on QM2 and just eating in the buffet, we are low maintenance. as long as they have a working coffee machine and internet, nothing else is a problem 😂.
  11. Hello, have been on the QM2 for 6 days and can attest that the food in the buffet (lunch, dinner, late night) is acceptable but not anywhere near the variety and quality of the buffet food on Queen Victoria (this past July) or Elizabeth (fall 2021). We are mostly likening for healthy options and it’s rough. also internet is far worse in cabin here than the other ships which means we can’t come back until in cabin wifi is verified.
  12. Hi—any worries on joining the May 10 cruise? Will it be totally disorganized the first month? Any word on ballroom dance floor compared to other ships, or internet in cabins? Am on QM2 and there is no wifi in canning, which has been disastrous. thank you in advance!
  13. I’m a pescatarian so might be limited…but perhaps they will accommodate with something fresh throughout the week.
  14. I’m generally happy just to cruise (even on NCL and RCCL) so actually like them all. I loved Victoria the best for vice, size, service etc, but the QM2 is my favorite gym/spa and the only disco I enjoy (G32 > Yacht Club) so even if it’s downhill since I was last there (2019!), I’ll just focus on what I love and get over the rest. I’m grateful for the reviews because happiness results from managed expectations 🙂
  15. Thank you, was wondering if I should eat l lunch before boarding this afternoon! I understand, sometimes it’s just not as great. Hopefully, there are other things to do…
  16. I’m often the youngest person around and always happy to be reading! And we were on QV in Britannia in July (after last having done QE in Princess Grill) and were very happy with the food also.
  17. Is it selection or quality of food? I am happy with simply grilled fish and veggies, are you experience good that isn’t fresh or high quality? I hope your trip improves! (And not only because we board tomorrow 😂😂)
  18. This is terrible, I’m so sorry for you. What did Cunard say in the email? Maybe we had better carry our own luggage on and off the ship…
  19. I am on the premium soft drink package—on QV they have us large bottles but I’m also fine with multiple small. We drink mostly sparkling water and coffee so that seemed the right approach. I made the mistake of the full drink package and thought the wines by glass were awful, so will put that $560 (80x7) towards a few nice bottles over the week. I did the commodore collection and liked the chablis but not the sancerre or montagny, so would rather just have bottles I like. Maybe I’ll find something in a wine store in Quebec…
  20. Hello, will be on QM2 next week, am holding off on booking other Cunard cruises until I see how the dance situation evolves, and whether private lessons will be available again with real dance pros. (This summer Cunard lost the best pros by telling them they’d have to double as dance hosts at night and no longer could give private lessons past 845 pm to paying customers). I don’t have a regular partner so I have to either bring a dance pro, join a dance group or rely on dance pros. I’d prefer to just book a 45 minute session rather than wait for an occasional dance with a host, but seems that won’t be available unless they bring the real hosts back. I’m also interested in Queen Anne but worried about what the ballroom will be like. So holding off until there are real reviews. The only other really important thing to me is wifi in the cabins. I’m ok with the simple grilled fish and steamed veggies for meals.
  21. Thank you for the review, we embark in Quebec and will be in 5112, so right across the hall from you. I’m wondering if you had wifi access from the room? We are with anytime dining but I thought that might be a bit more flexible for us. We loved it on QV this summer. You don’t remember the name of the waiter you liked, do you? I got the refreshment package so am hoping we can each start the night with a bottle of sparkling water and that will avoid the refill issue…
  22. We had it last night…listed as 2013/2014 but serving 2016. Very nice. Saving the Corton for a special birthday dinner.
