I usually spend about 2-4 hours in the casino after dinner virtually every night. My wife will play about $200 on blackjack and will stay if she wins or does something else if she loses. I can't tell you what carnival's criteria is for giving out free rooms, but my wife gets much better offers than I do. I spend thousands while she might play $200-$500 on a 7 day cruise.

I'm looking forward to the new ships.

Like the OP, our cruising is centered around our kids. If the choices are the Oasis or the Venezia, the Oasis would win hands down. There's simply no comparison in kids activities between the 2 ships.

It's gotten so bad that on our last 7 day cruise, our room was only done 3 times. In all fairness though, we told our steward if he had time to do our room...

Interesting. I wonder if it's subjective? On our last cruise, I decided to get a 3rd lobster tail. Our server brought a lobster tail for me and my wife. I asked him how we were going to be charged? He smiled and said don't worry about it and to enjoy our lobster tails. After we finished the dessert, I asked for him to come over and I tipped him $10. We got stellar service for the rest o the cruise.

Yes and yes While we were on her, there was a bit of a wait for dinner at the the P&A.

I was on the Panorama last sept and I ate the mac & cheese on many occasions. That and the coleslaw were my favorites.

I cruise with my wife and 2 kids. My kids like to just eat the appetizers and order multiples of those. I, on the other hand, like to try multiple entrees. So, I get the kids' entrees and everyone is happy including Royal...

There's no comparison. The Oasis is vastly superior ship. Just my opinion...

Jewel is a much smaller ship if that matters to you.

Went to the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas and I doubt we'll go back. It's like a giant water park that is way over priced. There's no restaurants that were reasonable. Longest 5 days ever. Although, the beaches and the views were amazing. But, for $850 a night, they better be. Mexico, on the other hand, was much more affordable. Beers were $3 and shots were $4 or $5. All inclusive resorts are $300 - $400 which includes all the food and drinks. If you've never been to these 2 countries, you should go at least once.
