  1. TTS, you read my mind (ok no mind, just a few neurons firing)
  2. We have observed the chair issues and other similar issues on most of the Silversea cruises we have been on. We are well over 400 days now. On one cruise we brought some books aboard to donate to the library. Sure enough, the next morning those very books were placed strategically on some loungers. They were there every morning of the cruise before 9 am. On the same chairs. I am familiar with the couple who used the loungers, but I know there were some others involved who actually did the book placing. Money was exchanged. This is the same guy I saw vociferously demand to see the MD in LaT on day 1 of the cruise and then very obviously and openly greased the palm of the MD and demanded the same table every day for every meal. His wife came to LaT at lunch in curlers. I don't think its the new norm. There will always be those who feel entitled, to whom the rules do to apply. And of course, to the detriment of others. And those who will accept cash for goods/services.
  3. When our luggage lost the crew were busy finding us clothes to wear. It was an interesting assortment of sartorial splendor. I never considered wearing the bathrobe. I could have done a great toga with a bedsheet. Fortunately luggage was delivered just before departure and no one got to see my rendition of a toga draped on a much older but wiser, body.
  4. Ok visceral reaction to MAC&CHEESE. Is it too cheesy? Considering changing my screen name soonest.
  5. And the emperors (or empress perhaps) new clothes…
  6. Can you put them on a headband to wear in your hair? A crown of sorts. Or attach them to a handbag?
  7. Wish duct tape was here. She would have some good advice and the inside scoop.
  8. Its colorful. But OMG how does it even float. After our recent MSC travesty in the yacht club, I can’t say I would ever go on something this ginormous. Even if I was gifted a cruise.
  9. Egads. How do we learn which ships are impacted?
  10. Has anyone used the “Photo Studio” aboard the Cloud? Comments invited, thanks in advance.
  11. Ryan You describe how incredibly difficult it is to close the curtain and close your eyes too! I remember that feeling, that if i closed my eyes i would miss something, the strong psychic pull of FOMO. I found myself wandering out on deck at ridiculous hours as my husband slept. What an odyssey you have had! And again, thank you for sharing it so brilliantly with all of us, sitting in our chairs, in front of our screens, watching and imagining and savoring.
  12. Here’s to the 4th and to more drone “fireworks”, dog friendly!
  13. I am excited that you are going to Greenland…we are to be there in September! You will provide a preview! Great news.
  14. That was so enjoyable!! Thanks for taking us along. on another note, while we always contribute to the crew fund, i have never been reminded to do so by Silversea.
  15. This is changing. Grill is now encouraging pax to cook their own rather than having the chef do it. I was told this on my last cruise, two weeks ago.

    tote bag?

Ok 3 weeks. i would send pictures of the bags but that could ruin it for you. Why not just bring a bag for yourself? if you are in a royal suite, an owners suite or grand suite you will be getting a backpack and white bag, inside will be a baseball cap, face spritz, a water bottle and some hand sanitizer towelettes.

    tote bag?

As i said above somewhere in this plethora of posts, we just disembarked from the Ftlauderdale to Dublin cruise, we were in a higher end suite and did get the backpack and white le pliage looking bag. They contained some face spritz, water and a baseball cap.

    tote bag?

Yes, there are bags provided to certain categories of suites. We have been given backpacks and large white bags that resemble the le Pliage bag. I suppose one could say the white bag could be termed “ a tote”. On the expedition cruises we also were given backpacks as Wes mentioned.
  19. Safe flights we had and a long journey home. We will remember this trip as being fog bound, bombarded by the sounds of the fog horn, every two minutes for hours and hours on end. I used to find it romantic and mystical, but no more. Reflecting on this cruise I can say that it was not at all typical. There were really none of the events that we have come to associate with a crossing, we have no idea why. I do hope that is not an indicator of the future leanings of Silversea. I also will remember the captain telling us we should be grateful for the weather we were having( the fog), and that it could have been much worse. I am not sure that engendered a lot of warm fuzzy feelings amongst the pax. We made the most of our suite, spending a lot of time there, enjoying what it had to offer. And of course we made another booking for the near future.
  20. Fabulous reporting, photos and trip!!! Enjoy it all.
  21. Terry, i did not ask the pax as they exited the tour bus. Most just walked away without a second glance. Many were carrying shopping bags. They did not look unhappy or angry, but who knows!!! There have been so many discussions about tipping I dare not venture in that pool of discord. I only offered that which i saw, and have never actually observed before. the fog rolled in again and out again. Its flat light. Soon we will be leaving our last port of the cruise before we debark. The crew has excelled. The next group is a charter from Mexico by Volkswagen. All times will be adjusted to allow for late night dining, etc. the ship will not be full. I wish them Buen Viaje.
  22. From our perch at lunch watched the tours return. Just an observation the majority , like 90 per cent of the pax, did not tip the bus driver or tour guide.
