  1. And now, the weather from the peninsula. Looking east to the Bahamas is some pattern of circulation. Weather forecasters have it as low probability of developing into anything like a storm. And hurricane season doesn’t start until June 1st. 😆 A week to go… perhaps pack a rain poncho
  2. The pros, great digs. Huge space. Privacy. The cons. Big suites in the bow are apt to have anchor noise. On port intensive cruises you will be awakened to the anchor noise. In addition you must keep your drapes closed at night so as not to interfere with the computer system that “mans” the ship. And then if there is rocking and rolling, you too will be.
  3. Happy anniversary Mysty and Myster….on to 46!!!
  4. Remember you will only have shadows when your life is full of sun…here’s to the Shadow.
  5. Windsor I have been to Newfoundland several times. Be prepared for cold wet rainy foggy or beautiful but chilly sunshine. We will enjoy no matter the weather. Looking forward to hearing you sing some of the music from the show!!!
  6. I know. Not yet May 28th. Time to get out the sailbags. Another Spinnaker run.
  7. Thank you Fletcher for sharing your trip with us. I savored each delicious post that you authored. A treat.
  8. The dreaded COVID changed many things. And no luggage tags sent beforehand anymore. You will get them at embarkation.
  9. Pre cruise we stayed at the JW Marriott. Since we have been to Venice a few times we were happy to be away from the crowds on a private island. Sunsets exquisite at the roof bar. On a working trip a few years ago I rented an apartment on the first floor of a garden courtyard. We were surrounded by lavender and other aromatic herbs. Heavenly perfumed air, but no room service. We lived like Venetian’s for a week. I worked during the day and DrSpins played. If you are adventurous do some research about apartments to rent.
  10. Egads. The remnants of a Breuer chair, perhaps an antique????
  11. Trieste is charming and beautiful.
  12. WWFT You have captured the essence of sea days. Niksen. And no not Nixon.

  16. Is that wayan and shiebz?? A bit blurry to be sure, cant id the third person! lovely people!!!
  17. Many of the photos are recognizable from past “coffee table marketing brochures”. At least they are being recycled. I have mixed emotions about the use of paper and ink. I am capable of going online and perusing without the printed paper. I also was quoted savings in AUD$. Never yet been to Australia but its sure on my list. Maybe its incentive to go there? Wow, subtle.
  18. The Orthodox Church is worth visiting, the building is stark against the landscape and you get to dodge the eagles as you walk up. Our guide related some of the recent poignant and painful history of WWII when many of the locals were relocated to “camps”, prompting me to buy the book “When the wind was a river”. There are still bunkers around the town. The horizon is dotted with volcanic cones with blown out tops which surround the harbor. These speak to the highly volatile Ring of Fire.
  19. I have been to Dutch Harbor on an expedition ship, which was small. We just managed to squeeze in amongst the other vessels. I was intrigued so did look up the port and it appears only one cruise ship can dock if at all. In my elder mindstate I often do not recall size correctly. In this instance I recalled the available dockage space as “small” so that is why I wondered if cruise ships tender. It is a busy port.
  20. It's an off the menu item. Someone said it's on the online menu. Or it comes from kaiseki Try and order it!!!
