  1. So we would both have to purchase a drink package of some sort? The web page doesn't say.
  2. Does the "still water" mean bottled water? Considering getting the refreshment package for our upcoming cruise - not interested in alcohol. Also, assuming that both people in the cabin have to purchase the package or can just one of us purchase it? On CCL, both have to buy beverage packages.
  3. Same here! Out of 43 cruises, he is our absolute favorite Captain! We call him Captain Jimmy since he reminds us a lot of Jimmy Buffet - just a cool guy. 😎
  4. We leave out of Galveston on Saturday headed for the Bahamas. I fully expect our itinerary to get changed. We'll still have a good time no doubt, but it's very hard on OCD planners like me when your excursions get cancelled and you have to regroup. LOL! I would think it's difficult for the ships to find new ports with only a day or two of notice?? This will be our 43rd cruise, but we've never been rerouted due to a hurricane.
  5. Thank you for posting this - not much info re: their parasailing excursion, so this was helpful. Just booked this through CCL since we have a ton of OBC to use. KW is a neat place!
  6. TreyB is spot on. We stayed under the Lido years ago - never again. Both chairs and music could be heard. Horrible!
  7. Exactly!! Same experience re: reviews. We will be there in mid September. Our ship is the first to dock the day we are in Nassau, so I'm hoping that helps a little. Thank you for the info!
  8. Thank you! I went ahead and booked the Dolphin Encounter. The YT videos look good!
  9. We'll be there in September - look forward to seeing it. Long over due!
  10. Easy to do if the slot you want is available. I recommend you go to the restaurant ASAP after you board to get it changed. Good luck!
  11. Here's a link to the port's webcam: https://www.portnassauwebcam.com/ I read somewhere on these boards that it is definitely open now. Looks very nice.
  12. Have much OBC to burn, so we are looking at dolphin swim or encounter at Blue Lagoon Island through CCL (both w/lunch). I've already done quite a bit of research, including the CCL site, TA, as well as YT videos. About half of the reviews are very positive about Blue Lagoon Island; remainder are very negative. The negatives mainly stress how dirty the island is and how disorganized the boat ride to/from the island is. (I also know some people complain about EVERYTHING!) The departure time on the CCL site says 8:00 AM, but reviews indicate passengers don't actually arrive at the island until at least 10:30 AM. Even with the 30 minute ride over to the island, that seems late. And reviews say it's about an 1.5 hour wait in line to get on the return boat? Other than the dolphin experience itself, just wanting a nice clean beach day with good facilities, especially shady seats. Would like to hear from those who have been there recently. We'll stop in Nassau in September - ship visit is 7AM - 4PM. Thanks in advance!
  13. Anyone know which night the Chef's Table is held on Dream 8 day cruises? We've done the Chef's Table on PCL many years ago, but may try CCL's.
  14. Amen! And we probably shouldn't mention what goes on in the kitchens of most restuarants.....😜
  15. Trying to decide where to do a dolphin excursion (through Carnival since we have a lot of OBC to use). It's just me and the hubby, and we've always wanted to do such an excursion. Both Nassau and Freeport list dolphin swims & dolphin encounters. The Nassau excursions both include lunch and are held at Blue Lagoon Island (which looks great, but not sure if much shade is available during beach time there? I need shade when I'm not out swimming.). The Freeport excursions do not include lunch, but cost substantially more (held at Sanctuary Bay - I think it's just there and back with no beach time?). I can't seem to find exactly how much time is spent with the dolphins for these options. Have looked at YT videos as well during my research, but still don't have all questions answered. Any opinions/advice are appreciated. I'd like to get something booked in the next day or so.
  16. Man, I hope they get this worked out by the time we visit the Dream again in September. The America Rocks show is one of my faves - I never get tired of it.
  17. Thanks to the OP for this thread. I haven't had a chance to read all 42 pages yet (LOL!), but I've enjoyed it so far. Thanks also for the pics of the new Nassau terminal - they did a great job! Are the small multi-colored shacks vendor shops? And I totally agree with you about Carnival's pizza - it slaps! I always get the mushroom pizza - yum! We'll be on the Dream for the 4th time in September. Have a TON of OBC for this one AND we scored an aft balcony for super cheap. Thanks, OP, for being so fun and positive with your thread! 🙂
  18. I had the exact same issues as the OP yesterday morning. Was getting very frustrated since I was trying to book a cruise! Clearing my history/cookies/cache worked for me. Not 100% sure, but not long after I did that it finally started working. I even did an on-line chat with a PCL rep, and they seemed to be clueless about the problem or how to fix it.
  19. We sailed on the Glory in May, our 5th on this ship. We were really surprised at how bad embarkation was, considering in the past NOLA was much more organized. Fortunately we were able to go inside and sit down (c/in time for us was 10:30 AM also). But so were all of the other people, regardless of what their check-in time was. Check-in times didn't seem to matter. It was a mess, but we were on board by 11:15, so that was nice. Glad you still had a good time, as did we. CCL is just a mess these days IMHO. Thanks for posting - misery loves company LOL! 🙂
  20. I'm with you. The beef tenderloin has been gone for several months, and I really miss it. I also loved the lasagna. I do agree it was time for a change, but with the old ones I always knew what to order since we had sailed with those menus for quite a while. I guess I'm saying I have mixed feelings, but I do look forward to trying new dishes. I'm just so thankful we are all cruising again, so I'll take anything!! 🙂
  21. Same here! I have tried so many others, but I always.......ALWAYS come back to my old stand by in the pink & green tube. There's a reason it still sells so well.
  22. BINGO! And the adults are as bad as the kids, if not worse. Land or sea, it's the same. Sorry the OP had such a horrible experience. I don't doubt anything you say you've witnessed. For us, it's usually the adults who are acting so horribly, but we have seen our share of kids who need to be disciplined for sure. If I acted half as bad as kids do now, I wouldn't have lived to be posting on this message board!! On our May cruise on the Glory, it was the adults in the cabins near us yelling at each other at all hours of the night. In our experience, it definitely depends on the itinerary. Worst experiences have been caribbean cruises. AK, New England and California Coastal cruises have all been with very well behaved passengers.
  23. I tried the alligator beignets on Glory two weeks ago - I was surprised at how much I like them! Really good!
