In all likelihood you will not have a problem but we have in the past have had an agent who have asked to see the boarding pass for the second cabin and made sure that there was an adult in it. Probably happened twice in 25 cruises.

The only way is to pay full price for both then get them to cancel and re book on board

You cannot bid on the category you booked. Location is subjective. I am guessing you are on one of the Radiance class ships and JS 11oo is one of the most highly coveted JS's because of its huge balcony. You may not like it but there are many that do. If you want to change to another JS you can call and change t another JS as long as it is the same type..ie J3 to a J3

While the OP did not do this you can absolutely book a cabin for 2 and add a tro yo or under with a pack n play to the room. Great way to get a cheaper room as founded are usually less than quads. You can even take advantage of group rates through travel agents booking thus way.

Not much you can do when there are no available cabins on tjr ship in smy category let stone finding 2 together. Tje one thing I have learned is that while Roydl will mskf changes that impact a guest they will not then impact another guest to make the first ones life easier. This same situation happened to a group of my vlients with about 15 cabins impacted. Luckily we were 6 moths before final and there was lots of cabins available and I was able to get everyone upgraded to side by side and connecting balconies but fometimes there is nothing that van be gone, I'd still be asking for a bunch of OBC though.

I know Grandeur isn't for everyone but there are some great prices on Grandeur this fall from Miami. Inside guarantees starting from just over $200pp for a 5 night cruise in November. Right around $500 solo with DP340 taxes in. Great for those chasing points or looking for a really cheap getaway. Thanks to @brilloheadwho is still struggling with her 12 step cruise-a-holic recovery program for finding this.

With the 18% auto gratuity it would put the total slightly over the $15 mark. Also made the math easier.

Depends on what they pay for a short 3 day sailing and what length of cruise their next one is. 4 free drinks a day for a 7 day sailing at $15 a drink is $840

I'm sailing July 8. I'm hoping thst having the Presidents cruise sailing on June 24 means they have staffed up.
