  1. I took an upsell offer on my last 2 Carnival cruises. Both were from inside rooms to balcony rooms. The first was a room I booked. The room I moved from went empty that week but that cruise was about 50% full. The second was a gty inside. I was assigned a low level mid ship but took an upsell to a lido balcony. That cruise was a lot fuller and I don't know if they resold my original. I have another gty inside booked on an upcoming Celebration cruise. I will have to wait and see if another upsell offer is made. I have not been given my room assignment yet.
  2. I have a Chilis gift card but I am not sure if it will be accepted here. Chili's website says card are good at any location but a recent review says an e-gift card on their phone wasn't accepted. Tried calling the location but no one answers. Anyway, anyone have any luck using an actual Chilis gift card here?
  3. If so what cabin were you assigned? How far before departure did you get your cabin assignment? And were you offered an upsell?
  4. Had to cancel Legend because of a schedule conflict. As I looked for a replacement I found a good deal on Celebration. Pretty excited to try an Excel class ship. I booked a gty inside so this whole experience will be a series of surprises lol. Now to take a closer look at reviews and videos of Mardi Gras to get some ideas of what to expect. I think I am most excited about the new food choices. No questions that I can think of off the top of my head. I guess I am just excited and wanted to share lol.
  5. If I prepaid for Cheers but I cancel my cruise does the amount I paid for Cheers get refunded to my card?

  7. I have an upcoming cruise on Legend in a 4K. It will be my first time with this type of cabin. I will be solo and my last couple solos I took upsell offers to go from interior to a balcony but didn't spend any time out there. If given an upsell offer this time I may turn it down. I am really curious about the 4k, its roomy, has a couch and natural light but it's priced as low as an interior.

  9. OP I have researched the VB veranda staterooms on deck 4 of Nieuw Statendam Pro: lager balcony, often half in shade and half in sun due to its double depth Con: the verandas above can see down onto yours
  10. I would think above a dining room wouldn't be bad. Shouldn't the dining room quiet down by bed time?
  11. If smoking is suspected in the cabin then Carnival should leave a letter in the cabin reminding the guest that smoking in unauthorized areas is subject to a fine. If smoking is suspected a 2nd time in that cabin I would send the guest a letter post cruise with a bill. If the bill isn't paid in 60 days then the person(s) go on the no sail list and are not welcome on any Carnival ship. Done
  12. Jamman thank you for the review and pics. I have a Legend cruise coming up this winter. Typically I try to arrive to embark after the crowds. I like to take my carry on to my cabin and unpack. Thanks for pointing out the later embarkation and cabin available times for Legend. If I want to avoid lines and get there after the rush can you recommend an arrival time?
  13. Did you visit the gym? I was on Legend last November and most of the equipment in the gym was in desperate need of replacement.

  15. Joe you make some good points. I agree people tend to focus on the negative. I can work around inconveniences like long pizza lines and slow MDR service. What I won't tolerate are disruptive passengers who create unsafe environments. Carnival needs to address this problem now. As I said if I experience this behavior on my cruise I will be taking a break from Carnival. I am sure I won't be the only one leaving but most won't say why.
  16. I will do anything I can to avoid lines and crowds. I embark late and I debark late.
  17. Perception is reality unfortunately. Carnival's reputation is worsening and that is dangerous for a company as vulnerable as they are right now. Its going to take some talent at the top to fix this. Lowering the quality of the product, lessening the experience, and putting customers in uncomfortable environments does not seem like a recipe for success. I have another Carnival cruise booked but I have a couple booked with other lines as well. If I experience any of the nonsense I have been seeing recently I will put Carnival on the shelf and not consider them for future bookings. I don't see any changes to the VIFP program being robust enough to get me to tolerate where Carnival appears to be heading. I hope I'm wrong because I have so many awesome memories with Carnival.
  18. OP love the question and I am following.... I never used the gym or spa on the ship until recently. On my 2 cruises since the restart I loved spending time in the gym and spa area. Those 2 cruises were well under capacity so I didn't get a true sense of how popular the area is but it was never crowded anytime.
  19. I feel the same way... As it stands I have 3 cruises booked, I will wait till I am a few weeks out from each to figure out that cruises specific requirements. Who knows what will happen if they see a spike after 9/6. I have already had multiple flight schedule changes for upcoming trips.
