  1. My choices for my post cruise flight were crazy expensive. Except one, a 9:15 out of FLL with a great connection about half way home. It was less than half the price of any other options FLL or MIA. Well I might be crazy and I have made some early post cruise flights down there in the past but man 9:15 was gonna be tight. I really loved the price, the short layover, and the time it would get me home so I pulled the trigger. Oh and I bought the flight with a credit promo so it was essentially free. Low and behold 3 days later my flight it was switched to 7:30 😮. No way I would make that. Well that allowed me to do a no cost change so I picked a later flight with an even better connection that would have cost me over twice as much. I know I got very lucky and this could've bit me in the ass but wow... Just thought I would share a story where the passenger made out for a change lol.
  2. TY Moondogy, I ended up booking an appointment in Pittsburgh because I will be traveling through on a road trip in October.
  3. Carry off and straight to the taxi line and you should have no problem catching a 10:25 at MIA. We all wish we could grab a cheap direct flight at the perfect time but that is seldom possible. Sometimes price and convenience dictate we make a skinny connection.
  4. Did you spend any time in the gym? I was on Legend in November and the equipment definitely needed to be replaced. Other than that I thought the ship was in great shape. I'm looking forward to my next Legend cruise this Feb
  5. I'm looking forward to my 2 HAL cruises.
  6. If those were mine I apologize.... I was getting an error message when I tried to post. I'm only seeing one here now.
  7. My credit card covers the cost of Global Entry or TSA Precheck. I debated which to get and ended up applying for Global Entry because it includes TSA Precheck. Right now I don't often enter the US by flying but I figured hey why not get GE if it's free. I do fly often enough domestically the TSA Precheck will come in handy. Well now my Global Entry has been conditionally approved and I need to schedule an interview to complete the process. When I look for an appointment their is nothing within hundreds of miles for several months. Anything within a 5 hour drive has no appointments at all. Very frustrating. In hindsight I would have just gone the TSA Precheck route. TSA subs out a lot of that process and I would have had no problem getting that done locally. Anyone here have recent experience with going through the process of the Global Entry interview? Any advice? I have 700 days to get it done but as I said no appointments anywhere near me that whole 2 years according to the CBP website and scheduler link.

  10. What if you were being dropped off at the port by a ride share or taxi? Are you dropped off in a separate area so your driver doesn't get caught up in these lines?
  11. Now that's a world class spin. The incident where chem fumes caused several to get sick and the generous offer that was given to sign legal documents? The one where the offer was rescinded if not excepted that day before anyone could be examined by their own physician or consult with anyone back home? That little misunderstanding? Omg this is amazing
  12. I have a Carnival cruise booked. If I see long lines at all during the day I will assume it will be worse later in the night. I will probably have a sandwich or pizza stashed in my cabin just incase the delivery option isn't available or it too has crazy long wait times.
  13. Omg I just spit out my beer lol. Well she's probably right on both points
  14. Good thing you included the pics or you would have been accused of making this up.... ah well you still might be. It's crazy how some will defend Carnival and attack the credibility and even the mental state of those who point out these issues. I honestly hope that the professionals who are needed to safely operate the ship are not as short staffed as every other department appears to be.
  15. No preference right or left but I do use seatguru to pick seats that are closer to the front and recommended.
  16. This Carnival fan would. I like the fun ship vibe and I am sure a lot of adults would like to sail with Carnival kid free. If they had one ship that offered that experience I think it would be popular.
  17. Which ship from which port? I am curious about how crowded the terminal will be at that arrival time? How long to clear and be on the ship? And, as you asked, are cabins ready?
  18. Need to try to be off asap. I am sailing NS arriving in Port Everglades at 0700 on 12/17. I have been able to carry off and make early flights before at FLL but this will be our first HAL cruise. Some of the passengers on my ship are continuing their cruse on NS after my 7 day, not sure if that means less trying to get off quickly/early and if that helps any?
  19. Lol my bad as well I didn't see this was addressed to suite guests. I knew they had cabin access and were on board first. I am still unsure of Platinum dropping bags. As I have said the hallways are closed and I don't see this s listed as a VIFP perk for Platinum on Carnival's web site.
  20. The recent comments here on CC and even in this thread have me confused. A lot of ppl have mentioned going to their stateroom to but a bag in the closet even though the room was still being prepared. They say that is a perk for being platinum. Every time I have been on Carnival I seem to remember not having access to staterooms till 1:30 per the sign on the closed hallway door. Is a crew member standing on the other side of that closed door checking to see if your Platinum before you enter your unprepared room to put your carryon in a place you feel is out of the way?
  21. Ready for what? To be honest I would not have known that people went to staterooms to drop off bags if I had not read it here on CC. I am a couple cruises short of Platinum so I have never given it much thought. But if I received this email I would assume I could go to my room and unpack, take a shower, whatever as soon as I board even if that is at 11am. I find the statement "Staterooms will be ready when you board" to be misleading. Also, for what its worth and I know not everyone agrees, I would not want to enter the cabin or closed hallway if the rooms were still being prepared. I don't like to get in peoples way when they are working. I wouldn't want it done to me. But as I've said I'm not Plat yet so this confusing perk doesn't apply to me.
