Room service question. Carnival liberty.

Do they leave the tray outside your door, or do you need to be up to receive the tray? We normally cruise RC and you have to recieve the tray. I liked when they just knocked and left it. I love being up early having tea on the balcony before DH wakes. I hate disturbing my hushband having them come in the room.

You have to receive it, and they wouldn't come in the room, I'd just take the tray from them at the door like you would with a pizza delivery at home.

I would love to just take the tray from them but both times we ordered room service this week they were pretty insistent they come in to put it down. Maybe because we needed to sign the receipt? (Both late night deliveries)

It is customary to tip the server for room service. Not sure how anyone would be able to do this if they just left the tray.

In my experience they knock lightly . If you're up and ready to respond they shouldn't create much of a disturbance for hubbie.
