lorri111 Posted February 24, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2017 Just advised that Sundays cruise on 26th will have delayed boarding from 5'30. Disappointing as had thought they had already gone through this a couple of times in recent past. Pity they can't get this inorovirus problem sorted for good. Does anyone know what happens with 5.30 dining and with boat drill in such a cramped timeframe?
happysnapper Posted February 24, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 24, 2017 Boat drill when under way. I'd head to the Horizon Buffet. They may make an announcement re fixed dinning times.
Aus Traveller Posted February 24, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 24, 2017 My guess is that they will have open dining in the dining rooms, but with times arranged around the muster drill. Not everyone will go to the dining room as a lot will prefer a faster meal in the Horizon Court.
Pushka Posted February 24, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 24, 2017 When this happens you wonder if a crew member might be a silent carrier.
Sandielle Posted February 24, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 24, 2017 I'd say they will have open seating. That's happened before, some nights during our Hawaii cruise, especially if it was a later than usual port day.
Sandielle Posted February 24, 2017 #6 Share Posted February 24, 2017 By the way, is this a precaution or have they got norovirus cases again. Anybody heard?

Ccaz81 Posted February 24, 2017 #8 Share Posted February 24, 2017 I received an email saying it is a precaution (an extra deep clean) and that the last cruise had no issues.

I hope we board at the normal time - the cruise following this next one.

Well that is good news anyway. They really need to have a clean ship for a few cruises in a row to shake the reputation it is earning.

lorri111 Posted March 6, 2017 Author #14 Share Posted March 6, 2017 Just back from cruise, no signs of sickness at all. Interestingly though the first 3 days of the cruise we had stringent precautions - buffet not self serve, books in library and sporting equipment removed from use, no condiments on table in buffet, toilet entrance doors left permanently open, continuous wiping down of tables and chairs with stuff - none of this I had actually encountered before. On the 4th day we had obviously passed some kind of quarantine period as things went back to normal. Interestingly it actually made progress through buffet quicker as people weren't faffing around with serving themselves - servers were quick and generous. Rare MicCanberra Posted March 6, 2017 #16 Share Posted March 6, 2017 Hopefully that will be the last of it on this ship or for quite a while at least.
