Carnival Elation - Dry Dock

What is the latest on this? I sail on the Elation on 10/12/17.

Dry dock is running behind due to dry dock being stopped because of Irma and because of the ship having to go out and help a boat in distress. As of now, the Fascination is sailing in place of the Elation since the Fascination is not able to sail out of San Juan.

What about details of exactly what is being done during dry dock. Carnival is being hush, hush about everything. They have posted several things but said there were "surprises". What are they? What is the big secret?

Unfortunately those deck plans don't look too accurate to me. Deck 12 says Paradise atrium and the casino bar is incorrectly named the Dream Bar, which is the name of the Imagination's bar. It looks like they have cut and pasted multiple different ships' deck plans together.

Who knows just what they're actually finishing. We got an email saying sail away on 10/7 is now at 7pm.

They've called guest & asked them to move cabins & sailings, Bc the cabin won't be finished.

It's going to be a don't know till we get there situation.

I just got an email from Carnival about our October 7th sailing on the Elation. The email said that the Elation will be back in service for our cruise on October 7th, but it would be on a 4 hour delay. They said that they need time to off load some equipment from the dry dock . The said that they would give everyone a $15.00 onboard credit, so you can by lunch the day of the 7th.

The sailing on Oct. 7 is delayed because the ship can't dock as early as usual. The Fascination has to come in and unload her passengers, then leave so that Elation can dock. Then it will be total stocking as well as offloading that equipment mentioned in another post. EM

No wonder Carnival called us and offered us a free cruise, I am glad we weren't able to make it, seems to me they are going to be confused about everything.

My Kids are cruising on the Elation on 10/7. Got an email yesterday saying that they would be the 1st sailing out of Dry Dock but the departure was pushed back to 7:00 p.m. It basically said that what ever time you had for embarkation...ad 4 hours. At least it saves then having to board the dogs until Saturday morning instead of Friday afternoon:D

We leave port now at 10. Read that first on the roll call then it showed up on my docs. At least it's the only ship in Jacksonville. Did that on the Valor last year and it was a nightmare.
