adstz Posted December 14, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 14, 2017 We are on the Sun Princess departing Auckland on January 13, 2018. It states that we can come aboard between 1 pm and 4 pm. Departure is at 10 pm. We will be touring the area with some friends during the day and would like to wait til later to board. I was thinking of having an early dinner with them before boarding. I know we need to be on board no later than 90 (?) minutes before they leave but can we still board between 4 pm and 8 pm with no problems? easyboy Posted December 14, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 14, 2017 While you might be allowed to board at 8pm, the latest check in time might be earlier. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Steelers36 Posted December 15, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 15, 2017 I don't think they re going to have the muster station until closer to departure. Although it makes some sense that they would do it before dinner and evening entertainment begins. Why wouldn't you ask Princess anyway? For questions like this best to call. On our upcoming South America cruise, there is a turnover day for passengers doing partial voyage in Buenos Aires and ship is there for two days. I don't see any reason a guest couldn't wait until second day to check-in and board. They are going to have to do a muster for the new folks boarding sometime before departure. They also have 24 hrs to perform the drill, so it could be held over to the next day, especially if a sea day. Call Princess if you have not already. Make them do the digging for the right answer. Optionally, look up a Roll Call for a recent cruise from the port and see if someone there can provide more info from the exact ship.
casofilia Posted December 15, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 15, 2017 The logical suggestion would be to check in early and then go back into town IF that is allowed. Check if so with Princess. If it is check the latest time you could board. If there are people who are B2B they can come and go as they please so you should be able to do the same thing if you have checked in.
