npb Posted July 17, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2018 I've found a great rate, but it is part of a group booking. Never done this. Are there any disadvantages?
Rare Essiesmom Posted July 17, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 17, 2018 I think you should be asking this on the forum here for the cruise line you are considering. The one thing I have heard is that if you are on a group booking, you cannot take advantage of price drops. EM
CruiserBruce Posted July 17, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 17, 2018 It depends on what sort of group and rate. Some group rates are higher, as there is entertainment, or other additional costs being provided for the group.
MCC retired Posted July 18, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 18, 2018 If it is merely a Speculative Group set up by your TA , you get the group rate plus any amenities chosen for the group , in addition to whatever sale promo at time of booking . You may not even know that you were booked into the Group as you will have no interaction onboard . Sent from my iPhone using Forums
cb at sea Posted July 18, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 18, 2018 As part of a TA's group, you are on your own for everything....you're not really part of a "group" at all, except that a certain travel agency has a bunch of cabins being held for them. Most times, when you book thru a TA, it's a "block" of cabins the TA has being held for their customers.
