BayouDoc Posted September 9, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2017 What are the options for lunch on embarkation day? We are staying in a grand suite, does this make any difference for dining either on embarkation day or other days? There are no butlers, right? Will the concierge make your dining reservations for you? Apparently suites may order room service from the MDR menu, is this served by the regular room service or are there staff appointed for this "suite" duty? Are seats reserved in the theater, how about by the pool? How does priority disembarkation work for ports and at the end of the voyage? We sailed on Rhapsody OTS in about 2005 but since then have only sailed suites on Norwegian or Silverseas so we're essentially newbies. Any other tips would be appreciated. Sailing on the Vision OTS out of Galveston this January.
Clarea Posted September 9, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 9, 2017 Lunch on embarkation day is either Windjammer (buffet) or Park Cafe. No difference for suite guests on embarkation day.
ARCruisinNana Posted September 9, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 9, 2017 Room service is delivered all courses at the same time. It's not served. Sent from my iPad using Forums
kccrzr Posted September 11, 2017 #4 Share Posted September 11, 2017 We were just on the Vision TA. The concierge will make restaurant reservations for you. We receiced an email about one week before sailing - you can request reservations in response to the email or ask once on board Every day our stateroom attendant left a copy of that evening's MDR menu in our room. There was also a special breakfast menu for delivery to suites, which included things like Eggs Benedict. We were in a suite on the opposite end of the ship from the MDR. Food was never very hot when delivered, so we used room service only a few times. Suite guests were able to have breakfast in Giovanni's. That was also our meeting point on disembarkation day. The concierge personally escorted suite guests off the ship on disembarkation day.
Blizzard54 Posted September 11, 2017 #5 Share Posted September 11, 2017 There are seats reserved in the theater for shows. They release them to everyone about 10 minutes before the ship starts.
MrYellowDuck Posted September 11, 2017 #6 Share Posted September 11, 2017 As a suite guest your room service will be delivered on a nicer tray. That's the only service aspect that changes.
DeadPhish Posted September 11, 2017 #7 Share Posted September 11, 2017 Hot roast beef sandwich at the Park Cafe. Thats all you need. Park Cafe is my favorite part of the Vision Class ships.
RFerrington Posted September 11, 2017 #8 Share Posted September 11, 2017 Was on the Grandeur last week and I have to say we were so disappointed in the beef on weck sandwiches. They had a nasty thick gravy instead of the usual delicious au jus. The beef was also not the usual prime rib that they use but a lower tougher cut and the sandwiches were just very disappointing. I hope Vision is better. The one that that they DID have on embark day was the incredibly delicious cream of mushroom soup. That made up for the icky sandwiches. You should be putting horseradish on that roast beef anyway, not "gravy". :o
