Ice and refrigerators

We will be on Viking Sun in a few weeks. I have a two part question. Do the refrigerators in the cabins have a freezer section? Most ships do not, but we have not sailed Viking before. Next - do the stewards provide ice buckets automatically? By request?

No freezer section in the mini-bar. Ice by request from your steward.

House keeping fills the ice bucket in the morning, which is of little use when you are gone all morning.

I called house keeping and left a standing daily order for ice to be delivered to our room at 4pm which worked well for an afternoon cocktail.

Yes, afternoon is better. I will place the same request. Getting excited about the cruise on 11/24 Viking Sun.

We never asked for ice. We would just go to the World Cafe where they have a section left open for things like ice, tea, I believe coffee etc. That way it was still frozen.

We always had ice in our ice bucket, morning and afternoon. We asked our room steward on the first day and we don't know who did it, but it was always there.
