Maui Tenders in Lahaina

On my first cruise to Maui, we were also tendered but could not remember where the location was. This is a big help.

I also recall walking through some type of building/warehouse after we got off the tender. There were several vendors with tables setup selling leis. I wonder if that building/welcome center is still there.

Then you tendered into the Kahului pier instead of docking there because there is nothing close to what you described in Lahaina which is only a small boat harbor and small tender pier. ;)

What is the process to get off the ship and tendered to Maui. is it first come first one off.

My experience with tendering on Princess (including Lahaina) is that priority tendering (elite level repeat passengers & suite passengers) do not have to wait in a dining room for a tender ticket & can join the back of the tender line at anytime. Also those on ship's tours get priority and then those waiting in the dining room are escorted by groups to a tender.

It can get busy but usually after about 10:00 tenders are less crowded & they no longer use the tender ticket procedure.

It is first come first served, after elites, suite pax, and cruise line excursions....on pretty much all cruise lines.

Not sure which cruise line you with be on but for our cruises on Royal Caribbean early morning they pass out tender tickets for determining priority when leave that day.

You present those tickets to leave the ship except if you are on one of their excursions which receive priority.

And on your excursion tickets will be the place and time to be at the meeting place (maybe Princess Theater). All members of your party need to be there when you're escorted over to the tender gangway. Same thing for those going to the dining room to get a tender ticket -- you can't get extra tickets. After those with priority use the tenders, numbers will be called for the ticket holders. At some point, you don't need to get a ticket, just go to the gangway after the announcement.
