jerseygirl226 Posted March 19, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 19, 2014 Sailing out of N.O. and arriving early. Don't want to carry a lot of cash with us given N.O. is notorious for pick pockets. Does anyone know the current on-board ATM fees and the maximum withdrawal limits each day? Appreciate the help.
KuffMUp Posted March 19, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 19, 2014 November 2012 on Majesty, it was a whopping $30! I had to use it because I had a prepaid Visa that didn't have my name on it so I had to establish a cash account. I think I took out $300 but I don't know what the max is. Cash can be withdrawn from your sign account via casino, but it's 5%. You can also withdrawal from a credit card for a fee. Not sure what it was. Just bring cash unless you're really bringing big bucks (over 1K). If you are that worried about pickpockets, don't put cash in your wallet
JYD Hawkeye Posted March 19, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 19, 2014 I think the ATM fees on the ship is $6.00 plus what your' bank charges. You can also take a check to the casino once for $200 or $250. I would stop on the way to the pier and use your' banks ATM if there is one avail. or take the cash with you and just not carry it all around with you in NOLA. I use a belt, like a regular pants belt, that has a zipper on the inside to put cash in.

To use the ATM on the ship will cost you $6, plus whatever fee your bank charges for using another banks' ATM. The maximum single withdrawal amount that can physically be dispensed probably is around $500 on that ATM. Your actual $$ limit per day is set by your bank not the ATM. Remember that is not your cash in the ATM, the cash is owned by the company that runs the ATM.

You will start paying interest on that cash immediately, probably in the the neighborhood of 20+% APR.
cb at sea Posted March 19, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 19, 2014 (edited) Divide your cash between the 2 of you....keep money in your FRONT pocket...you WILL feel if someone sticks their hand down there...And, bring larger denominations...much easier to bring more in less space! Once on the ship, put the cash in the safe. Edited March 19, 2014 by cb at sea
matj2000 Posted March 19, 2014 #8 Share Posted March 19, 2014 Don't waste money on a ship ATM. Bring all the cash you need ahead of time, save time & money. We usually carry on $1500. Nothing ever happens
