Thanks very much for posting, you have gone to a lot of trouble there. The litre prices are good but not great. Are all the posted prices 1 litre or 700 ml.? Not sure if Premium spirits come big. I buy Bells from 1st Choice on line @ $30 or Highland Earl from Aldi at $28, albeit it 700 ml bottles. I prefer the big 1125 bottles of spirits at the Airport. I generally drink Scotch and Dry or Scotch and Soda. Even so, Duty Free is good, anywhere.:halo:

I honestly didn’t find the prices of DF on the Sea Princess all that exciting and didn’t bother buying any. The only overseas port on that trip was Alotau as the cruise was the north western explorer visiting mainly Australian ports so I don’t know if that had any influence on the prices charged.

In respect to Vila on the cruises we have been on that have visited that port I’ve found the prices on the ship quite competitive although the variety somewhat limited we have often purchased on board rather than ashore.

Can't comment on the other prices listed but Johnnie Black has certainly gone up. October last year we bought 1ltr bottles of JW Black for $38.00 each. This was on the Dawn Princess which included Vila in the ports, and Vila is always the cheapest duty free grog.

There was no real competition on that cruise as the only international Port was Alotau in PNG where I believe DF wasn’t available.

I wonder what the prices would have been like if we had been doing a SP or NZ cruise where the shore prices Would have been much cheaper than what the ship was offering.

We found the price list changes depending on where the cruise goes. If you are headed to the South Pacific the prices are lower than if you do NZ, our guess is they try to closer match the competition in the region.

I think you must be right because apart from the $38.00/Ltr we paid for Johnnie Black I buy my local Johnnie Black by the dozen bottles and get a better price than was in the list in this thread.

Could you drink .5 litre on board?

If the bottles were deluvered to the stateroom early enough on the last day we 'could' drink half a littre during the afternoon/evening and get under the allotted allowance

If anyone has a NZ cruise price difference list it would be helpful

If you open a bottle before you clear customs you run the risk of being charged customs duty on all of the alcohol you have with you. I personally would risk it and just buy the amount you are allowed or just a bit less depending on the size of the bottle.
