But am ready to book again for next year. Does anyone have any experience with a PVP and a TA? We booked our last through carnival.com and did not get any perks and wondered if I should try booking differently this time. Carnival at this time is only offering $100 on board credit for repeat cruisers.

The only way to get more perks is to book with a TA.

There are pros and cons to both.

You need to ask questions about change fees, cancellation fees etc.

If you have problems all communication with Carnival need to go through tbe TA.

We've done it both ways. We've booked through a TA for the OBC. This time we booked directly through Carnival and we got an e-mail from the Upsell Fairy. The upsell was worth far more than the OBC we would have gotten through the TA. We didn't use a PVP - just the website.

How was the internet connection and speed on the Pride? We keep hearing the ships will be fitted with better internet service and speed over the next few months and was wondering if Pride had been updated yet?

Just got back from Pride yesterday, internet speed on mid-tier (value) plan was HORRIBLE. Like dialup if dialup was having a bad day.

WOW? I guess the Pride did not get the internet/wifi update that other ships are starting to get.

So as bad as the mid-level plan was, getting the lowest one would be just as bad, but less painful due to the price?
