jmm881 Posted January 3, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2018 What's the best excursion for January weather in the Bahamas? I was looking at snorkeling type excursions, but am worried about the weather in 9 days.

jmm881 Posted January 3, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted January 3, 2018 Talk a walk down to fish fry for lunch Sent from my iPad using Forums This does sound up our alley. Do I need cash? US dollars work? We only have one day in the Bahamas; are only stop - wasn't sure how much cash I should have on hand for that.

K&RCurt Posted January 3, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 3, 2018 I will be honest and tell you that I do not like Nassau, and if it were me, I would stay on the ship and enjoy the amenities without the crowds. That being said, if I were to get off the ship, I would get a day pass for Atlantis and enjoy the day there.
crossfitmama Posted January 4, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 4, 2018 We had a lot of fun on the booze cruise we did. It also had beach time and snorkeling but it was just a fun experience with open bar, music, limbo and yummy lunch. who doesn't love a little limbo;) . https://bahamascruiseexcursions.com/excursions/booze-cruise-party-boat/
OCruisers Posted January 4, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 4, 2018 January water temperatures in Nassau are likely to be very chilly. You might enjoy going to Fish Fry! Our Fish Fry favorite is Twin Brothers. http://www.twinbrothersbahamas.com
oilsand Posted January 5, 2018 #9 Share Posted January 5, 2018 Nassau Credit cards can also be used. Small US bills are best so you don't end up with alot of local currency although the legal currency is the bahamian dollar. It is the same value as the US dollar and either one can be used throughout the bahamas. Casinos only take US currency It you have Bahamian currency make sure you either spend it or trade it for US dollars as it is very difficult to exchange once you leave the country

Although you may see CC decals on the door/windows, the machines break down and arent' replaced. So ask before you order. You will also need cash for taxi's, jitneys, straw market and tips.
