Oh my, X simply dominates these awards. I'm sure LLP is basking in the glow of increased margins, fully booked ships and apparently mostly satisfied loyalists.

Very true, I have not had a reason to consider jumping ship, yet. Greatly satisfied with the whole experience....

bon voyage

Bo, I'm with you on that! And I love the way you always put a positive spin on everything. Thank you!! IMO, Celebrity deserves every award they receive. Are there some kinks sometimes? Apparently so judging from other thread posters. Things will happen with any for profit organization. But I still think the value and the product are great. My first Celebrity experience was in 2015 and I feel they have been very consistent in both product and service. Though I can't speak to how they may have operated prior to my 2015 experience, they've been good enough for me to consider them above all other lines. Took the family on a Thanksgiving cruise on NCL last November because we were footing the bill for a party of six and the price point was more affordable than Celebrity. But the price was the only thing that was better. Though we had a great time, and I'm going to make sure of that regardless of the ship, the experience left me longing for Celebrity. Equinox, here we come!

g - thank you for your kind words!!

Next year we are planning a group sailing, some people wanted NCL or Carnival as 'more economical options' my response was 'that is great' let us plan on a parallel itinerary and we will catch up in each port... :D

That went over like a lead balloon trying to navigate the stratosphere... needless to say the number of people in X's group is greatly increased based on what X offers vs the others and the viral footage from a recent Carnival sailing helped too...

bon voyage

I too love Celebrity. Not to go negative, but personally, if there was one area I wish was better it would be the evening entertainment. The 'shows' if you could call them that could be much improved and I know I am not alone in that thinking. Yes some of what they do appeals to some but that doesn't mean they can't evolve to appeal to a wider audience. The shows need a bit of life to them and some of them feel like they should be in smaller venues for what they deliver, might feel totally different. The entertainment is the single reason I keep considering other cruise lines.

Oh well, they are definitely doing a lot of things right. Thumbs up!

Edited to add NO SMOKING ANYWHERE INSIDE ROCKS!

p - I have heard that frequently about the shows and have no comparison which is recent. I must admit that we often never get to shows as we are dining leisurely, usually, while they are going on. We mainly take advantage of the late night entertainment around the ship.

Some of the comedy shows I have seen were hit or miss. Then my humour is quite odd, too. LOL

I wish they still had or would make a space for smoking cigars.. a long lost vice of mine.

We've promised ourselves that we'd give the shows a shot more than we have on previous cruises. If they stink we can always go to the casino.

I too am interested in what makes the shows on other lines better, as I have no point of reference. My only other cruise was a Disney Cruise and I only went to one show (which was good, BTW). On the Silhouette in January 2017, my husband and I attended two shows, The Jersey Boys and The Tenors of Rock. Both were really good and were just shorter versions of their longer Broadway-style shows. The crowd was rocking and singing along both times. I missed the show that everyone says is confusing (Elysium...maybe?).

What is the entertainment on other cruise lines that is so much better? I'm genuinely curious.

Thanks!
