Texting onboard

I recall the last time I was on Liberty about 2 years ago, there was an ap that allowed us to text each other without the RC internet service. Is it still available or is the only way to communicate with another cruiser to purchase Voom for two devices. And don’t chastise me if this has been asked...I’ve looked everywhere, on CC as well as the RCI site. :D

No such thing on Liberty, at least not RCI, maybe the Carnival version. You'll need VOOM or just use regular cell service at 50 cents each.

Ask your cell phone provider if they offer a cruise package...our AT&T does.

Better check again. That won’t cover you on the cruise ship. Ports maybe but not at sea.

I'd double check and ask specifically about coverage while at sea. Most cell carrier's international plans have no coverage at sea.

While I was able to text the daughter while on board I did do better when in port. I am also with Sprint and have the INTL Plan. I actually shared a photo of waterfalls in Iceland to the daughter off my phone.
