Symphony wine tasting $17.70 and what wine with CP perk?

Has anyone done the wine tasting on Symphony? The price didn't sound terrible if they are serving decent wines. Wondered if they would be the same offered per glass with the wine package.

Also wondered what sort of wine they are giving out with the CP perk, think it said RED but wasn't sure if recent reports might indicate which red or if can swap for white, etc.

Thanks.

There have been reports of people being able to swap an unopened bottle of red for a white at a bar.

We did the wine tasting on the Symphony this past June, but I cant tell you what the wines were. There were a couple of reds and 1 white. The tasting was mostly about pairing types of fruit, cheeses, and nuts with the correct wine and how they alter or enhance the wines flavor.

We have not done it on Symphony, but we did the wine tasting on Explorer and really enjoyed it. We had a conflict last year on Serenade, and my sister and I tried to sign up for a smaller one on a different day in Vintages, but no one else signed up and we were so disappointed. This year, I'm on a medication (hopefully temporary) where I am not supposed to have more than a 5oz. glass of wine per day, so I will have to miss it again.

I don't recall if the wines we tasted on the Explorer were also available by the glass or not. One drawback was that since it's with a big group in the dining room, we could not hear the sommelier particularly well when he was talking about the wines. We did get double-poured on one, because the first server poured it in the wrong glass (the glasses were laid out on a placemat/menu with a spot for each wine). Then another server came around and said "oops, you didn't get this one" and gave us another pour. No one said a thing! :-)

I haven't booked a Central Park balcony, but if the red wine given is the same one given to Diamond Plus guests, it's awful!

I don't usually drink white wine, so I don't know if you were able to change it, it would be any better than the red.
