We are travelling on Carnival and would like to know the legal drinking age on this private island owned by Carnival. Can you by drinks for cash or do have to cahrge them to your onbard account?

The bars on HMC are attended by ship's crew. The same bartenders you see on the ship, work the bars on the island.

Same rules: you must be 21 to drink and all charges go onto your shipboard account by way of your key card, same as on the ship.

also if carnival has any soda or drink cards -- you can not use them on the island

the only place on HMC that accepts cash is the few local vendors in the booths as you enter the area

also if you do any of the excursions -- you will want some cash to tip the guides

The legal drinking age is irrelevent because as stated already in this thread, the alcohol is served by the cruise line. Therefore, cruise line policy is what matters. The age is 21.
