goldencruiser Posted November 8, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2009 We are thinking about going on the Century December 17th. We have never sailed with Celebrity before - but have with Princesss, Royal and Carnival. We are hoping for a concierge class stateroom. What things are not to be missed? Is the Sushi bar a pay extra restaurant or is it free? Is there soft serve ice cream? How is the entertainment? What do we need to know? Thanks
Bobbie John Posted November 8, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 8, 2009 Come over to our Dec 17 Century roll call! The sushi bar is free. I know they have ice cream but not sure if it is soft serve. We were last on Century in June 2006. We like the aqua spa cafe for lunch. They have cook to order healthy meals at no extra charge. Don't know what the entertainment will be. Probably one production show and a comedian and singer.
goldencruiser Posted November 8, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted November 8, 2009 Thanks for your reply, Has anyone stayed in the cc cabins aft on the Century? How is the motion back there?
Phxazzcruisers Posted November 8, 2009 #4 Share Posted November 8, 2009 The ships are extremely stable. It all really depends on the weather during your cruise. I usually wear a patch but have not had to wear on on the last three cruises.
zoncom Posted November 8, 2009 #5 Share Posted November 8, 2009 REAL ice cream made on ship. Sorbets also. Had a wonderful dark cherry sorbet on Solstice this Winter.Lots of more exotic flavors.

Thanks Wasn't too impressed with entertainment, other than the comedian and Franklin, the guitarist from Chicago, who played at several venues around the ship. The Broadway style shows were really amateurish and not my thing! Loved: friendly service; non-smoking everywhere; Islands Bistro; Aquaspa Cafe; cappucino and free pastries at Cova Cafe; Muranos; lamb entrees in MDR & Muranos; eating on balcony - enjoyed the CC breakfast as well as champagne & cheese plate in afternoons. So-so: pool area too crowded; weak entertainment; some wear & tear on ship (such as stained seats in the theater & the sofa in our cabin). Nothing really negative however! Rysyonok Posted November 8, 2009 #9 Share Posted November 8, 2009 There isn't too much motion in aft cabins, except for when thrusters are on, but their decks are very visible from upper decks. If privacy is important, consider deck 10 :) Sushi's free, but it's no better than in a typical Chinese buffet. Except decent quality, but no masterpieces. Do try stirfry - it's amazing if Sun's the one making it :) Entertainment is OK. Read dailies ahead of time, and be prepared to be on time. Trivias and other small events start promptly. goldencruiser Posted November 9, 2009 Author #10 Share Posted November 9, 2009 Do you receive Champagne and a cheese platter everyday or is it just on your first day in cc cabins?
CanWeGoYet? Posted November 9, 2009 #11 Share Posted November 9, 2009 I thought the sushi was good, not the best I've ever had but I didn't think it was chinese buffet quality.
Bobbie John Posted November 9, 2009 #12 Share Posted November 9, 2009 Do you receive Champagne and a cheese platter everyday or is it just on your first day in cc cabins? Champagne is complimentary in your cabin on the first day. Canapes are served every day.
