Hi-We've just been informed by our TA that we will be getting a coupon booklet for our cruise? Does anyone know what this will consist of? Does HAL have a coffee card system like Princess? Thanks to all who answer! Shelly:)

Where do I get a coupon book?!? :) I don't think we get one as part of our booking...

They were in our cabin when we got on the ship.

There was a note attached to them indicating that they came from our TA. But our TA's company has not been giving any kind of gifts since 9/11. We checked with her when we got home -- she said that they actually came from HAL but gave her credit for giving them since we booked our cruises through her. Why did HAL give them to us -- I have no idea.

I wonder how many people actually use any of the coupons. Anybody here use anything lately?

Since I normally buy at least one $100 Internet package anyway, I always get to use the 10 minute Internet coupon.

That's about it. Everything in there requires that you purchase something in order to use the coupon. It's just a come-on.

When we get cruise quotes, we make it a practice NEVER to deal with a TA who offers up any sort of coupon book as something desireable. The best use we have found for one so far was to put under, and even up, an outside breakfast table on the Sun Princess. Have not looked at one since. I hear that others have used them as coasters from time to time.

We have used our TA for over 23 years -- and if you read what I wrote -- the coupon book did not actually come from our TA since their company no longer has been giving any kind of gifts since 9/11!!

This is a scam. Not one thing is free, unless you purchase something else to get it. The 'something else' more than pays them the cost of the 'free thing.

Reminds me of 'bonus dollars' my bank provides me with. In the catalog they provide, all items require spending cash along with their bonus dollars. The cash is no less than you can find the items priced at elsewhere. I once called them offering them all (ten times as much as required) of my bonus dollars and no cash to purchase an item in the catalog. Of course they politely refused the worthless offer.
