I HAVE to ask: who knows what it is?

Okay, after seeing so many pictures of ships, I just HAVE to know this:

On almost every ship I see a very small round pool at the front of the ship (at the point)

I never see anyone on this part of the ship and the pool is tiny.

What is this? IS it in fact a pool, maybe for crew only?

Or is ts something completely different?

Are people allowed on that part (to make a Titanic picture)?

greetings from Holland

Cat

from time to time pax are allowed out there on days other than the PC transits...we have had time when the cpt let pax out there when leaving ports before...on Carib Princess leaving St Martin and X Equinox as well. That area is usually closed to pax on those ships

HAL ships don't have that bow pool for their crew.

But that area of the ship is open to passengers when doing PC cruises and Glacier watching in Alaska.

Actually it is open more than that.

On our cruise on the Eurodam in October it was open all of the time except when crew had to access the area for taking down the "Port flags" and docking.

Just go and try the doors..If they are not locked you are permitted to go out there.

Fascinating!

who knew the crew has a pool! And so tiny to boot!

I will surely try to get on that part of the ship for my Titanic picture. (I'm on top of the world WHOOHOO!)

thanks for clearing this mind consuming, brain boggeling question for me!
